ATTENTION HELIX STADIUM OWNERS:
Updating your Helix® Stadium firmware directly from via WiFi is strongly recommended as the best way to update. However, if you’re using Line 6 Central or the Helix Stadium application to update via USB, always update the application first.

HX One Firmware

New Features & Improvements (3.81)

  • FS2 Flux Position is now saved in the Preset. You can configure the behavior of the Flux Position (min/max) across preset changes using the new Exp/Flx Positn (FKA Pedal Positn) global setting:
    • Global (default): Flux position persists across Preset changes, regardless of how it is saved in the preset.
    • Preset: Flux position is recalled from the Preset.

New Features & Improvements (3.80)

  • FS1 On/Off state is now saved in the Preset.
  • Display Preset Names:
    • You can now view the preset name instead of the model name in the Home view. Configure this in the new Disp Name global setting:
      • Auto (default): Displays the preset name by default. When scrolling through models using the effect encoder, the model name appears and persists for 3 seconds after the last adjustment before reverting to the preset name. When editing model parameters, the preset name briefly switches to the model name, persisting for 3 seconds after the last edit before returning to the preset name.
        • Model: Always displays the model name.
        • Preset: Always displays the preset name.

New Model:

  • Wah/Filter > Teardrop Bass Q Wah

MIDI Enhancements:

  • Added support for MIDI control of the Shuffling Looper.
  • Introduced a new MIDI command for preset navigation (CC72):
  • CC72, value 0-63: Previous preset
  • CC72, value 64-127: Next preset

Chromatic Tuner Update:

  • The chromatic tuner is now available when HX One is set to True Bypass.

Bug Fixes (3.81)

  • Preset Corruption Fix: Resolved an issue in version 3.80 where presets became corrupted during the update process. This corruption affected parameter control via Flux or expression pedal.
  • Important Note: If you updated to version 3.80, a factory reset is required to correct this issue. This process will erase any custom presets on your device. Users upgrading directly from version 3.71 to 3.81 will not experience this issue.
  • Preset Import Issue: Fixed a bug where presets exported or backed up prior to updating to version 3.80 could not be imported correctly.
  • If you backed up your device before updating to version 3.80, you can safely update to 3.81, restore your presets, and they will function as expected.

Bug Fixes (3.80)

  • Fixed an issue with the Shuffling Looper when exiting the preset list by pressing both footswitches.
  • Fixed a bug where stereo models would collapse to mono when the insert position was set to Post.
  • Corrected the Looper Undo/Redo state when controlled via MIDI.
  • Resolved glitches in Delay effects when MIDI Clock changes with Note Sync disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where the Flux Min/Max value wouldn’t update after resetting the parameter to its default.

Recommendations for Updating

  • If currently on version 3.71: Update directly to version 3.81 to avoid any issues.
  • If currently on version 3.80: Perform a factory reset after updating to version 3.81 to ensure proper functionality.

Known Issues:

  • Global Setting MIDI Clock Rx On clock tempo is not applied when switching presets.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked to address these issues.

HX One Firmware

How do I update to 3.70?

IMPORTANT! To avoid data loss, you MUST create a backup of your HX One device using the Line 6 HX One Librarian application before updating your HX One firmware via the HX One Librarian or Line 6 Central application.

Backup and Updating HX One via Librarian

  1. Download and install HX One Librarian:
  2. Connect HX One to your computer via USB, launch HX One Librarian, and make sure you're signed in.
  3. IMPORTANT! If you've created any user model defaults you want to keep, you MUST back everything up before updating to 3.70! At the bottom of the window, click BACKUP. Choose the name and location of your backup, and click Save.
  4. Once you've successfully backed everything up, click the Update (cloud) icon in the upper right corner. Follow the instructions to update HX One's firmware. NOTE: While updating, HX One's screen and LEDs will go dark. This is normal.
  5. Power down HX One and while pressing and holding both the EFFECTS knob and the HOME button, power HX One back on. The screen will briefly read "Resetting Defaults..."
  6. OPTIONAL: If you wish to restore from a backup file, click RESTORE in the lower right corner of HX One Librarian, navigate to your saved backup, and click Open.

Bug Fixes in 3.70

  • HX One: In rare cases, adjusting select parameters and then pressing an external footswitch assigned to Next or Previous preset can cause HX One to become unresponsive—FIXED
  • HX One: When Settings > Guitar-In Z was set to "Auto" and HX One was bypassed, the effect's impedance value would be retained—FIXED
  • HX One: Flux On/Off Time would not respond to MIDI Clock when set to note division or beat values—FIXED
  • HX One: Bypass state wouldn't always be recalled correctly after a power cycle—FIXED
  • HX One: When using stereo inputs, in certain cases, the right channel would be offset by up to 6dB—FIXED
  • HX One: Turning the BPM value knob could be a bit glitchy—FIXED

Known Issues in 3.70

  • HX One: User Model Defaults created with 3.60 firmware are lost after update to 3.70. IMPORTANT! Be sure to use HX One Librarian to back up all data BEFORE updating to 3.70!
  • HX One: In rare cases, very quickly push-turning the EFFECT encoder can maintain the effect category carousel view. Press HOME to exit.
  • HX One: When using HX One in 4-Cable method, some stereo models are not optimally collapsed to mono when the Insert Position parameter is set to "Post."
  • HX One: When True Bypass is engaged, the Tuner does not operate correctly.
