I guess I just like the sound of the ping pong delay? As much as possible (within the confinements of the PODHD), I always try to build my tones as though it were being miked up in a studio environment, signal path etc. So, in my mind if you were sticking a mic in front of say a Fender Twin with the reverb turned on, the signal is mono. A ping pong delay would be added to the signal after it. Keep in mind, I don't play out and I play a majority of the time through headphones. When I record I usually turn all post amp effects off (except reverb) and use effects within my DAW. The ping pong I use in a preset is usually just for jamming along with stuff.

I will try the mono effect after the reverb and see how that works. As I said, I KNOW putting it in front of the amp works to make it mono, but it is adding reverb to your guitar before it goes into the amp, which to my knowledge in an actual amp that has reverb built in, its placed after the distortion correct? Maybe that is manufacture specific or model specific... I prefer the L/R 1/4" outs just because I do like to add a ping pong delay after the reverb.

Definitely does not work before the amp. Well let me reiterate. Its does work however your signal going into the amp is processed with reverb which gives a strange sound in most normal uses.

Anyone have any idea how to get the a mono reverb...specifically spring? I'd like it to sound like its straight up the middle as if it was coming from the cabinet. But no matter where I put it. seems to wash out to the left and right. I have tried this with the faders in the mixer with zero pan and with 100% pan. No difference. Thanks!

Maybe this has been debated or asked already...the few reviews I have seen on the new Amplifi totally talk about the features, but nothing is said about the quality of the modeling. Are the amps and cabs modeled with different/better technology than the HD series or is it the same tech. just packaged into a mobile interface?

http://line6.com/customtone/tone/667655/ OOOPS! This is the rhythm patch. The other is a rhythm patch too, but not the one used on this song.

More of a play on the 7/4 time signature its written in.

LOL! Its funny that you say that Joel. I've done my fair share of testing out VSTs, amps going direct using IRs, and I keep coming back to the HD500. I would say 90-95% of the time the 500 does everything I need it to do and does it well. Not to say that its perfect...

Good day folks! Generally I don't post very often even though I do frequent the forum. However when I feel I have something to share that others can benefit by I am happy to do so. So here is a track I just finished up called "Route 74". All guitar and bass parts were done with the HD500. So check it out! Hope you like... https://soundcloud.com/bsheen/route74 New Patches: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/662139/ http://line6.com/customtone/tone/662140/

Here's a remake I just completed of "Power to Believe" from The Dream Academy. This song was featured in the 1987 movie classic "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". All guitars and bass were recorded direct from my HD500. Tones can be found @ http://line6.com/customtone/profile/bsheen/ Thanks for checking it out. Hope you like! https://soundcloud.com/bsheen/ptb

I am using the 500 on 4 tracks of this new song called Snowed Inn. 2 clean- one of them is a modified version of Paul Ortizs' "Spacey Clean" the other is one I made. 1 rhythm 1 lead https://soundcloud.com/bsheen/snowed-inn I will post the presets in my custom tone page and post the links in a reply to this post. FYI. The song was written while in the middle of a snow storm. Well...I was inside! You get my point.

Well that is an issue. On single amp patches when you change the input 2 source to anything other than AUX there is alot more distortion being added. When its set to AUX the distortion is less and it sounds more natural like coming just from the amp. Otherwise it sounds like there is artificial distortion being added in. However on dual amp mode it doesn't seem to change the sound when choosing a different input.
-
Copy that Silverhead! Appears the culprit was the "input 2 source". I had seen on here before that changing the input 2 would help out with patches having more distortion than what was actually in the patch. I had changed it to AUX, but that was on a single amp patch. It seems to be okay now. Am wondering now what that whole idea was that I read about before was.

Anyone else having issues with the dual amp not working? Amp A hard left works, but amp b hard right =nothing. Thought it was a glitch in a preset I built, but just tried building a brand new preset and it isn't working either.

Yeah I gotta get one of them there encabulators.

Any one have any insight on this? http://line6.com/firsttoknow/

Could be a good thing if L6 was short on capital to improve the things we have been speaking/wishing of.

I am certainly not looking for any freebees. I'd be very happy to pay a reasonable fee for the additional amp packs. But they need to be worth buying. In my opinion they could have saved some money on a few of the amp models that came with the original unit. But thats just me. For the style of playing I like, I use about 5-7 models out of the 20+ they have. Again not bitching, very pleased with the tones I get, but would love to "PAY" for more. Its a win, win as far as I'm concerned.
-
This might be off topic...but I still don't understand why they have not or are unable to offer add on packs for purchase. It seems if the infrastructure of the other modelers they have come out with in the past can handle this task, that these should be able to as well. Don't get me wrong I love the 500 and have been able to achieve some excellent tones. But I'd be okay if they allowed you to delete some of the less used models and choose some that might get used more. For instance I don't see myself ever using the gibtone or the light blue colored model(name?). Or if they upped the sample quality of the existing ones even more. I know this isn't a wish list thread so I'll stop....

Appreciate that DeanDinosaur! Its always a work in progress.

Thanks! I use Sonar X3 now. Olympia was Sonar 8.5. I mainly use Sennheiser HD280 headphones and KRK ST6 near field monitors. For the mastering I use a pair of high end towers I designed and built several years ago. Interface is a Focusrite Saphire Pro 40. To be honest though my office/studio is right below our bedroom so a majority is done with headphones. The monitors I use more as secondary reference to make sure I'm on the right path.

yeah some call it tough, crazy, and a lot of other words. Take your pick I guess it could be all of the above. :)
