  1. Hey to "just startin'"... I bought a backup HD500 so that I wouldn't ever have down time with my gigs, and as I was trying to save all my patches on the computer so I could upload them to the new unit, I had the same thing happen today! Mine has worked perfectly for 4 years. After an hour of trying to update to 2.32, I panicked and instead pressed the "NO" button for the "do you want to save your patches" question thinking it would maybe get my unit working again. I should have called Line 6 before I did that because they answered quickly and had some simple advice for me. "Have you tried ALL the USB ports on your computer?" I had only tried the 2 in the front. As soon as I plugged it into the back of the computer where my printer usually goes, it updated immediately, BUT I had already lost all my patches... yes, it's true, I hadn't saved anything in 2 years, so I'm back to scratch. I was happy my device was working though. Customer support also said to try it on another computer or laptop, because it is rarely a hardware issue, just a connection issue. I had actually updated my flash many times through the front ports before, but never took the time to save my programs. I've been having internet issues lately, too, so it could have been a timing thing with getting the right internet connection at the right time. The customer service rep said "just keep trying to update it and it will probably catch". As soon as I hung up with him, it worked. Don't forget, you may have to calibrate your rocker pedal after this happens.
