So your saying in the Global settings Ins/Outs page 2 set my XLR Output to mic instead of line if I use the XLR outputs. Set the 1/4 inch outputs to ? if I use a DI.
-
I also created my tones with the big black volume knob at 10:30 - 11:00. Is that the only way to control the output of the signal to the mixer other then individual channel volumes on each amp?

Since you all seem to have a lot of knowledge about the Helix, next weekend I will be using it for the first time live. I will be running direct into the mixer since I also run the sound. Any things that I should be aware of because, I don't like surprises during those circumstances. Just as a side note I have used the podxt live for 12 years with a power amp into a 2x12 cab.

Got some new xlr's, wiggled them, no noise. The question I have now from some posts is, why would you want to run 1/4 inch to a DI instead of XLR? Is there any difference in tone? Wouldn't 1/4 inch just be adding outside interference? Isnt that the whole idea of using XLR's in the first place?

It's ok unless the cord gets bumped or moved, which is hard to control playing live, Other musicians, friends soundman etc...

My xlr cord when plugging into the left (mono) or right outputs in the Helix will wiggle if bumped causing a crackle. I have tried multiple xlr's and all of them wiggle. Anyone else had this happen to them? The male pins on the Helix are solid, it's the female end of the xlr itself that seems too small.

I use rubber bands and its working out just fine! You ever wonder why all manufactures have the switches so close together? Cost, maybe but unless I'm wearing pointed toe cowboy boots, I'm gunna bump into a switch.

Is there anyway to set up the controller so the bank up/down, function 2, and tap tempo/ tuner buttons won't work? I keep hitting them by accident and need them to non responsive if I hit one. I tried the FBV Control Program and have each one of the above mentioned buttons unassigned, but that seems to make no difference at all.

I cant even imagine what it would be like to have to fill Jeffs shoes, but I have seen Queensryche with Todd and he fills them admirably. Plus I can see Jeff as having LEAD SINGERS DISEASE (LSD). When your relatives are running all the stuff behind the scenes it would be easy to wonder about them being biased.

Yes, you caught me. ---- I probably shouldn't have posted this trade here but didnt know where else on the site to put it. You see I want my HD to go to a good home. My live setup is a XT, BBE Sonic Maximizer, Power amp, 4x12 Marshall 1960B cab. I am so used to it that I decided to stick with it. So I need a backup xt.

Anyone willing to trade a POD XT Desktop for a POD HD Desktop? I have a HD Desktop with the 4th value knob that does not work but that is the only thing wrong with it. You can still edit using usb. This is why I would trade even up.
-
I am thinking about running my hd desktop direct to mixing console or the snake. Would I have to use a direct box or can I use a trs to xlr cable to the board?

I own a xt and a hd desktop, but I believe to my ears that when I connect either one to my monitor speakers for recording the pod farm sounds the best by far plus more options also. Maybe someone could answer me this, for years I have tried playing threw my computer surround system and like I said pod farm sounds the best, When going live I use a tech 21 power engine 60 with my xt and its ok, but no where near as good as pod farm into the surround system. Now I see it must have caught on because people are using full range flat response cabs which I have told my friends about that is the best way to get the best sound from this technology. I have tried into amps, power amps into 4x12's etc. With the freq. range of a guitar being what it is, why do you think xt, hd, pod farm sound so much better running into surround system as compared to going into a 12 inch speaker? Sorry for the long explanation, but if there is a way to get the sound fron a surround system to the fronts, I would love to know since most pa's are set up mono.

I know this might sound silly to most but, I like the sounds that I can achieve with Pod Farm and was willing to try to use it live direct into the sound board. I would have to purchace 2.5 cause I have the first version and already own a mk11 (midi footswitching). I believe that would be $99, I have all the available model packs. Which output on my UX2 would be the best one to go into the soundboard with? And am I correct with all of my above statements?

Thank You ! I was unaware that you could rename patches with hd edit. Real bumed about not being able to adjust parameters on the fly during live use, but at least I can still rename patches.
-
I have a hd desktop and the 4th knob under the display turns but does not change any parameters. I want to rename some of my patches, but the fourth knob also controls the characters. I use HD edit to build the patches so I can change parameters with that on the computer. Is there any other way to rename the patches. I have the MK11 but did not want to have to resort to that.

What do you use for lead boost on xt live, on xt bean you can use mk1 then turn on the compressor footswitch for lead volume boost.
