  1. Any ideas ?? Th pod farm free sounds are poor. I lost all the good default tones I had with gearbox . I feel like line 6 has crippled my ux2.
  2. Hi... I am using line 6 monkey on electronic capitan. I install the drivers and restart as requested. Next time I open line 6 monkey it still says drivers not installed. How do I fix this? Also I take gearbox is gone? That's a shame, Is there a way to view pod farm with only the free stuff. I have no intention of buying any packs. I was happy with gearbox. I just want to remove all the stuff that requires a paid plug in to work so I am not scrolling forever to find a sound (if I can get drivers installed that is) Thanks
  3. I got a gt-10 & I got to say its great. I can trigger the tube stack amp overdrive channel with my effects at studio with one click. The effects that I have had a quick shot of seem pretty nice too, the looper isn't as awkward to use & the control pedals are really handy, I can quickly boost any of my presets for lead parts & add additional effects without much hassle. I have only used it tonight but feel more at home with it than I did with the pod. Haven't tried it with Logic Pro yet & I'm assuming the pod will have it beat on that count but I still have my toneport with gearbox and pod farm , so not going all anti line 6 or anything... Just the live pedal didn't work for me.(tried for 2years now)
  4. I will do....I really wanted this pedal to work for me , but thinking of the boss gt10 ,even though some may frown on the idea , but you can channel switch the amp and save it in your preset so it's all done in one click. Which is pretty much what I need.
  5. Thanks for the advice. When I got this it was between pod and gt-10, I will look into the gt-10 again. At next rehearsal I won't use pod at all, there is a h&k switchblade with a presets pedal so that may do me for now but not a long term solution. I didn't think when I got this of even the possibility of having to channel switch the real amp. I was a bit naive and thought it would just work, but I'm not a gear head and just like playing my guitar. I am selling it anyway as it just isn't fitting with my sound, even though it does sound great for recording. Gonna look at a multi fx that can channel switch to use the real amp distortion. Thanks again.
  6. Ok so I used it with one of the studio stacks with a peavey head. The distortion from the peavey was night and day amazing against the pod. But I have to do a bit of river dance now. I was thinking of going with separates but that's still the same problem... I got a multi fx so I could use presets & have less to worry about live. I have read that using powered speakers instead of an amp is also good for the pod hd. I'm assuming it's still not as good as the amp though. I take it I am stuffed then as I like the "one click" sound from my presets & to get the good distortion from the amp I need to do some double pressing?
  7. I'm only asking for help mate . On a pod hd forum about my pod hd.No need for the dramatics.
  8. That has even more things to press on it... Looks like mistakes could be easily made with that many switches (for me anyway(
  9. Even the smaller combo amps sounds better to me
  10. I will give it a go using fx only mode tonight, I was previously using a boss gt-5 which was more consistent , used a lot at gigs as well. Went with the pod as have line 6 toneport and had great reviews. If in fx only mode , can I still use it in preset mode? Only have to switch the amp distortion with my presets that usually have distortion .
  11. I have tried going into power amp of various amps but can't get to work( had other thread about that) I don't have own amp , use the studio amps . Mainly stacks and sometimes combo amps. I always make sure that I use the right setting, usually stack front . It's just that the stacks are great quality & make the line 6 distortions sound terrible in comparison. When in stomp box fx only mode, does it remember anything? Or does it go purely on the dials .Eg if my dials move when packing away etc. I'm considering for just home use or selling and getting separates though...I have to set up before everyone else if using an unfamiliar amp & it's getting frustrating.
  12. I think in going to have to use this pedal as fx only. I can't seem to get the distortions sounding good, nothing seems to cut through & it varies wildly from amp to amp. Probably a lot of it down to my inexperience, but the actual amp distortion sound better to me. I'm not sure of best way to tackle as I have a few banks of presets made up depending on song. I'm assuming I could still keep them and when it's in fx only mode (for my distortions) I would have to do some double footwork. It's either that or stomp box mode.... Can you get the pod hd400 to trigger the amp distortion in stomp box mode? I just don't like the idea of having the pod & another floor switch in front of me... Too much space between pedals.

  14. What output should I use on pod hd400? It is just dead when I try the fx return on amp only seems to work going in to main amp input
  15. Ok so I finally got round to playing my guitar, I looked at 3 or 4 of the amps in the rehearsal rooms and couldn't find power amp input, I checked smaller combo to the larger stacks. What does the power amp input usually say? I don't want to damage anything as this isn't my equipment.
  16. How many cables does this way take & I take it I would have to recreate all my patches ? Is there not a way of modifying all patches at once? To be honest I think I I'll try the power amp method next as i can understand it's bypassing the amps pre amp. I don't really understand the 4 cable method or fx return .
  17. Ah ok...so I take it the amp>front option just tries it's best to limit the modelling. Thanks for your patience... I just enjoy playing my guitar never been too clued up on the amp fx side
  18. Also meant to say it's not the room that changes what settings I use , they have stacks in one room and combos on the other. It is confusing me though as I thought that if you chose whatever amp>front that it would adjust accordingly & give similar results to pluggin into the power amp and selecting that.
  19. I don't really understand the 4 cable method to be honest, I need to take some lessons on pre & post fx loops etc. The other method , (power amp) seems more like what I will try next. So I put guitar in guitar input on pod as usual & instead of putting the jack in guitar input on amp, put it in power amp jack? Should the back switches still be set to live & amp? Just to be clear...does the current way I use it mean that I am using all of the pod fx and modelling etc but also going through the real pa pre amp which causes the quality to decrease ?
  20. Must add... I like to use my hd400 on patch mode. I use the distortions and fx etc from the pod. I just want to use the amp for the overall volume of the pod . I won't be using any amp fx or distortions. Am I better going into amps power amp input instead of normal guitar jack? Apologies again for this question
  21. Ok, This is noob question but I have seen some very detailed setups for pod hd connections for Amps. What I usually do is connect guitar to guitar input Connect output left (mono) to the guitar in on amp. Change the setting to live on back of pod. Change the setting to stack front or combo amp front (depending on what rehearsal room I am in ) Sometimes it sounds good , sometimes it doesn't . What is the reason for the 3 cable and 4 cable methods of connecting to an amp? If it can give me a better sound I am all for it but unsure of why people are doing this. Please forgive my lack of knowledge in guitar amps .
  22. Thanks ... Does any of the other HD power supplies work with this? I have seen the hd300 and hd500 for £10 .
  23. Any idea where I can buy a pod hd400 power supply I have misplaced mine. Can't find anywhere online for UK power.
