  1. Thanks for that - I had figured out one alternate tuning per preset, but hadn't considered the MIDI option for doing more; I haven't delved into MIDI options yet on the Helix. It sounds like it might well work; I will give it a try. Need to get a MIDI jumper cable first though.
  2. I know I can set up different Variax tunings for different snapshots within a preset on my Helix Floor. However, I'm already using 4 snapshots within my main preset to give me different amp/fx/drive etc. (typical Clean, Edge of Breakup, Crunch and Lead snapshots). I am in Stomp/Snap mode, giving me 4 footswitches on the top row and my 4 snapshots on the bottom row. What I REALLY want to do is use three of the footswitches on the top row to switch between 3 different Variax tunings regardless of which snapshot I currently have selected - i.e. I want to be able to use each of the tunings on any of my 4 snapshots. Is this possible?
  3. Nobody? OK maybe this should be in the Helix forum, not the Variax Standard forum..... Can a moderator move this? Or should I remove/repost?
  4. Jerseyboy thanks for that - very useful information. I still have no idea about the LED sequence, but I'm only getting about 4 hours use out of this battery when the manual says I should get at least 12. It turns out this guitar was display stock in a retail store for nearly 4 years, and the retailer can't tell me how well the battery was looked after or how many cycles it might have on it. They've agreed to replace the battery at no cost to me.

  6. Just bought a Variax Standard. Updated to latest firmware (was 2.21, now 2.23). Workbench HD loaded and working. All behaving as it should so far. The behavior of the battery status lights on the back of the guitar is a little odd, and not as described in the manual. Battery is fully charged. First press of the status button shows 4 lights, as it should. A second press lights up lights 1 to 4 in sequence (1 comes on, then goes off, then 2 does the same, then 3, then 4). A third press flashes light 2, then light 1, then light 1 a second time, then light 2 again. Fourth press goes back to showing the status (4 lights on again). Is this as it should be? What does it mean? It's not random - the sequence is exactly the same every time, so I'm guessing it's some sort of testing or status indication. I'm a bit worried about battery life though - I bought the guitar brand new today, but I know it's older stock and the serial number on the guitar starts Y15, which I guess means it's a 2015 guitar. Shelf life on these types of batteries is typically 3 years or so whether used or not.
  7. I have a similar issue here, but with a bit of a twist... I have a footswitch assigned to both a volume block and a pitch whammy block. I can get the switch to toggle between the two blocks (one goes off, the other comes on) by setting one on and one off then saving BUT I want the footswitch light to be ON when the whammy block is on and OFF when the volume block is on. No matter what state things are in when I save, it always ends up the other way around, i.e. light on when volume is on, light off when whammy is on. What am I missing? EDIT: Problem solved, sharing for others to see if needed. The solution is SO intuitive I missed it completely.... It seems that when multiple blocks are assigned to a switch, the light follows the block that is active in the bottom section of the screen. So all I had to do was touch the switch until the Whammy was shown on screen, then save the patch. Works perfectly.
