  1. never turn the thresh above 50%. the tone suffers considerably past this point. if u require heavy gating and there is too much unwanted noise still, add more gates, which also never should be turned past 50%.
  2. ive had this issue with an hd pro, trying to get the pod to record has been a nightmare. heres what i did: line 6 monkey did exactly what u describe in your post. it went through the installation process except, when i reopen monkey, it does not detect the POD automatically nor have any drivers actually been installed. i closed monkey and downloaded the driver myself from the list off the line 6 website which i stumbled across through google. i installed this. then monkey detected my pod and the driver had a green checkmark. next i encountered a similar issue trying to update the firmware, it wouldnt detect the pod and time out, even though in the previous screen the pod was clearly detected. to fix this, i simply closed monkey again and turned the power on the pod off and on. upon starting monkey again, i found the firmware updated with a green check mark. weird. its like a soap opera with this thing always some curve ball outta nowhere, let us know what happens next!
  3. silverhead your posts in particular have helped me out, i recognize your name from scouring these forums numerous times trying to figure out the errors. I realize im only ranting thats the point, everyone needs to know how much line 6 has made me suffer.
  4. I installed version 4.2.7.1 driver to use my POD HD PRO X as my soundcard and encountered an unbelievable amount of resistance towards getting the damn thing up and running. Im not gonna rant about every problem i encountered, but ive spent 4 days pretty much nonstop troubleshooting error messagings, installing and reinstalling drivers, devices not being recognized at random, sound coming through weak and thin, fixing bugs by turning equipment on and off only to find it not working again later, and just generally being pissed off cuz all i wanted to do is make some damn music. these are hours i could spend honing my craft, instead i pull out chunks of my hair and became convinced that there is no god. Line 6 your toy makes some cool sounds but you should burn for making it so damn difficult to do so. You're lucky I'm a cheap man.
