    Connection Interrupted regularly

I'm really struggling with a solid USB connection to the Helix. I use the cable provided by Line 6, in the back of a Mac Mini, with nothing else plugged into any of the ports. I've never been able to update the Helix on the first try, it usually takes 4-5 attempts for an upgrade to happen, and in the meantime I lose all my presets. I only use HX Edit when I want to load Its, but after copying 4 or 5 Its, the connection drops with "Connection Interrupted" at the bottom. I've never had such an unstable connection to a device, especially one that has integral power so isn't drawing power over USB. What can I do to solve this, as this is an incredibly frustrating situation.
  2. Thanks everyone for getting into the Spider V. We hope you’re enjoying all that it has to offer. We’ve found that with certain new product launches, it’s helpful to keep a running thread of your experiences with connecting various Android mobile devices, whether it works or not. With such a wide variance in offerings and specs, it’s impossible for us to test all of them, so maybe this thread will help answer some customer questions, while possibly helping Line 6 spot issues/trends with a given group of devices. Here is the Spider V / Android Device USB Compatibility Check article that should help you find out if your device support USB Host Mode, which is required for the Spider V Remote app to communicate with Spider V amplifiers. Please post your device model, Android OS, and Compatibility Check results. Thanks for your input. Please remember to visit https://line6.ideascale.com with any feature requests you may have.

Wireless USB from Editor to Helix?

Yo, Helix brainiacs! I miss the days of wirelessly connecting to the Firehawk for editing during live performances. Could actually get some crazy effects by tweaking the delay parameters in the middle of a trail , and other cool stuff. And there's a bunch of other reasons for live use of the editor that i'll spare you. As for the foot control- g'head , but it doesn't work as well as a tablet or laptop for me. I've been researching and coming up with zip- any suggestions for wirelessly connecting laptop to the USB -B on the Helix ? Otherwise , i'll stick to my 10 foot USB cable. Thanks
  4. I recently bought a Pocket Pod (yesterday, in fact), and since then I've only got it working when it's connected to the PC via the USB cable. It works perfectly in that case, but as soon as I remove the cable, it stops working. I've tested it with batteries only or with a power supply, and none of it works. The only case when the Pocket Pod functions normally is when it has either batteries or cable plugged in, and it's connected to the PC. I've read that the device needs a mono cable to activate, but I've been using a stereo one and there's no problem. Maybe the cable works when the USB is plugged in, but it doesn't work as a switch for when it is not. Should I try a mono cable or is there another problem? Thanks in advance
  5. Hi! I need some help, regarding the technical issues I'm having with my POD HD 500. When I power ON the device, it will display the LINE 6 logo permanently, so, the device won't initialize; I have tried a "FACTORY RESET", pressing the left arrow while powering the POD, but without success. Pressing/holding the down arrow, it will indicate: "UPDATE FLASH". Assuming that it needs a "FLASH MEMORY" update, it simply won't be possible by any means to do it, because: When using "Line 6 MONKEY", it won't recognize any USB connection to the POD, so it won't detect the device. If it doesn't detect the device via USB, and a "RESET" won't work either, how can I solve this issue and update the "FLASH MEMORY"? Connecting the POD via MIDI-USB Interface, the POD HD500 won't appear on the "Monkey's" list, while other devices will. I wonder why this model cannot be updated via MIDI Interface. It simply doesn't make any sense for me; I also tried to use different USB cables, USB ports on my laptop, tried to re-install Line 6 Monkey and everything else., but with no effect). RESUMING: Nothing works. Being a professional musician, I really need to solve this problem as quickly as possible, so I hope that someone out there can help me on this! I will be awaiting for your replies. Best regards to everyone! ;) Hélder Oliveira
  6. I am looking to use POD Farm to help clean up a simple USB headset mic. Some day I will get a good mic and interface but for now I just need to do some narration of a PPT presentation and would like the sound to be better. Any ideas?

HD 500 connectivity and drivers issue

Hello everybody, Another thread about these problems. I know there already are a lot, but none of them helped me. I bought a used HD500 with an dead USB port (i changed it, i work in electronics) and the famous boot loop problem on Line6 welcome screen. I would like to reinstall the device's firmware. First, Monkey (last version) won't install the drivers (the wizard does the work, the files are where they are supposed to be, but when i reopen Monkey, it still displays that driver aren't updated, even when i do it manually). Is it linked with the fact that the device was never recognized by my computer? (Win 10, Lenovo laptop, USB 3.0 may be another source of problem?). It never appeared in Windows Device Manager. Edit : i disabled USB 3.0 in my bios, so they work as USB 2.0 ports, no result. (but may work for other issues) I've tried to reset with left arrow, nothing, reset with down arrow effectively opens update mode, but still nothing, reset with right arrow, nothing. USB cable is OK. Do you know a way to check if device's USB chip is OK ? Thank you in advance.
  8. Hey guys, I have a Variax JTV but I don't have the USB interface in order to use it with the Workbench. If you have a Variax USB and don't need it anymore because you have the Helix or another unit that interfaces with the Variax, I would appreciate if you would be willing to donate it or sell it for a reasonable price. The brand new unit is too expensive for me. Thanks.
  9. HI, I recently bought a POD HD from a friend and I am facing a problem now. When I hook up the POD to my system and try to use it as an audio interface, the playback crackles as if like a torn speaker or something like that. I have tried a few solutions found here in the forums .. like changing the USB port, drawing power from the same power source, changing sample rates etc etc.. but the problem persists. I have a Behringer USB sound card and it works fine through the Behinger. . Also a bit confused about buffer size. Can we change buffer size in Windows?? I am totally new to POD. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to do it this way so that I can use POD HD edit. Is there a way in which I can use the Behringer to connect the POD and use HD edit at the same time?? I use a normal Philips 2.1 computer speaker Win 7 64 bit.
  10. Hey guys, I have a JTV variax but I have no USB interface to change it's parameters, and I have no other interface (POD, helix, etc.). The interface by iytself is 150$ here, which is absurd. Would this cable make the Workbench HD see my JTV and allow me to update firmware/upload patches and change params? https://bencraven.com/?p=1616 Thanks!
  11. I was hoping that I could use PowerCab edit through the L6 Link from my Helix. I have the USB connection to the Helix and have limited usb ports available. Is it possible to connect to the PowerCab with the Edit software through the Helix? Ideally, I'd have the HX Edit and PowerCab Edit on one machine and one USB connection.
  12. Hi there, I have the following setup (excuse the sad ASCII art): PC ---USB---> HX Guitar---------> Stomp ---> Headphones So basically PC and guitar into the stomp and headphones out. I want to use the Stomp as a soundcard so I can jam to tracks, youtube lessons etc. (note I'm not using a DAW or anything on the PC, so am not sending any audio from the stomp to the PC) With the Stomp, there is a 5 - 10 second delay when playing any sound from the PC (e.g. playing an mp3, watching a video). Once playing it is OK, but once I pause,. pick a different videos etc the delay comes back. It's almost as if the USB connection goes to sleep and needs to wake up. I can play audio via my Yamaha THR10c amp (also connected via USB) and it works fine, without any delay. So I think this is something Stomp or driver specific and not related to my PC (note the Stomp and THR10c are not powered on at the same time so shouldn't conflict). Has anyone any idea how I might resolve this? Details: - Windows 10 64-bit - Stomp firmware 2.71 - Control panel shows 1. Line 6 > HX Stomp - Driver Provider Line 6, Driver version 1.0.0.0, Date 09/01/2018 2. Audio inputs and outputs > Speakers (HX Stomp) - Driver Provider: Microsoft, Driver version 10.0.17134.1, Date 11/04/2018 - HX Stomp is the default device in Sound > Palback - Using the cable provided with the stomp into a rear USB 2.0 port - Ryzen 5 CPU and B350 motherboard Thanks!
  13. Hello folks! We (my band) just recently purchased the M20d and been in love with it! :) We're going to make our first show using it this Saturday, and we're trying to have everything ready to try to record the set (or at least parts of it). While I've been able to easily connect an SD Card (and also hooking the board up to a pc with the USB cable), I've been having some trouble trying to connect a USB external hard drive or even pendrives. For now, I've tried connecting 3 different external HDD, two formated in NTFS and another one in FAT32, neither were recognized by the board. I also tried 2 pendrives, one is 8GB and FAT32 format, it didn't work. The other one is an old one I had here, it's 2GB and FAT format, and it worked perfectly.... What's the secret?? Hehehe... I'd really like to be able to use one of the externl HDD since those would give me much more recording time and would be easier to use with the pc later. Thanks in advance for your attention!!

    Variax Support?

The Helix Hardware has good support for the Variax. Wondering if the software will integrate somehow with the Variax? I know the communication with the Variax is currently limited over USB, but because the VDI spec is closed we have no idea of what's possible using that or USB. FYI.. Here's my ideascale to build a stand-alone Variax interface that could be used along with Helix Native.
  15. Hello, i´m really excited from this AMP but there is still something to improve *imho - Why is it not possible to get tones from the cloud with the PC-Remote-App?? - Recording over USB with dry and wet Signal? - Dry and Wet Signal for the Direct Outs? - PODfarm-Tones not compatible with Spider-Tones. Why? - a record mode for the FBV2 to start/stop/record the Loop with the Pedal I hope there are some Ideas for the next update :)
  16. Working through issues with my brand-new Helix LT, so far Line 6 Customer Support has been quick to engage and support: Initially the Helix LT was unable to connect to either Helix Editor or Line 6 Updater applications - first with a MacBook Pro laptop running MacOS El Capitan. Switching to an iMac running MacOS Sierra, I was able to successfully update the Helix LT to firmware version 2.21.0. I subsequently updated the operating system on the MacBook Pro laptop to Mac OS Sierrra. Now the Helix LT will temporarily connect to the computers with Helix Editor software, then dis-connect with a yellow-bar error message stating "Service is not online." Subsequent attempts to connect are unsuccessful, sometimes with an error message stating "Cannot connect to device." Both computers, two USB cables supplied with Line 6 hardware, all available USB ports on the computers... same dealio. Not working!! My original Helix Floor unit connects successfully to both computers - with both of the USB cables I have - and there appear to be no issues with navigating the setlists, presets, etc. Exporting the files to the local storage disks also works OK. NO CONNECTIVITY ISSUES WITH THE ORIGINAL HELIX FLOOR. Curious to see if other early adopters of the newly-released Helix LT are experiencing similar problems with USB connections and Helix Editor + Line 6 Updater applications. Possibly this is more specific to Apple/Mac devices & not Windows/PC devices?? Thanks for any helpful input, KWH

    Connecting Pod HD to amplifi

I have been searching for an answer but am. It able to find anything, so I will post my question. i have both an Amplifi 75 and a pod HD bean. Although I really enjoy the amplifi as is, there are times where I would like to plug my HD into it to utilize the amps, effects, editing etc. In essence use the Amplifi as a set of speakers. I have read and tried with variable success using the aux in jack. I was wondering though if you can attach the pod HD to the amplifi with the USB port. I used this in past through my computer and it worked really well. Just asking as I noticed that in the manual for the amplifi it has changed from “future use” to audio in/out for recording. Anyone tried this or have any knowledge about this. Asking before I start plugging in this where they may not be meant to go.

    Helix USB stability

Hi all, Just did the firmware update on my helix LT (2.70) and It now seems to have a stability issue when using Helix as an audio interface. Every half hour or so, the usb seems to disconnect for about a second or so and switchs back to the inboard sound card of the PC. It then reconnects as quickly as it has quit and works fine for another half hour approx. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem too? Helix is the only device connected via USB and if I don't use it as an interface (say I only use the midi over usb fuction) It works fine... I don't reject the PC being a possible cause for this problem but it didn't behave that way prior to update... Thanks

    FireHawk USB Question

Hi everyone, I just bought a Firehawk, and so far I am pretty pleased with it. I have a couple of questions: (thanks in advance) 1) I want to connect my ipad to the usb port in the back of the firehawk, but I don't know what type of usb port that is so I can buy it on line. It has this "funny" type shape. 2) I am plugging the output to an amp, does it matter what type of guitar cable I use (balance, unbalanced, etc) Same with the cable going to my student montiors (I am using a three prong cable for that.. not sure what the of the cable is...I am knew to all this) Thank you, Lguitarjsm
  20. Hi All, Just upgraded my firmware to 2.70 from 2.54 and now my USB audio is very distorted. Helix sounds are fine but any audio coming back from the mac via either the system or my DAW are now very distorted. I installed the latest drivers and read the notes about allowing them through Mac OS X's security features in 10.13 and onward however I never got the prompt for this and it doesn't show up in the privacy settings either. Tried the usual restarting of everything with no luck, anyone else experiencing any problems using the helix as an audio interface?
  21. Just spent a few frustrating days trying to get Line 6 usb drivers for Helix and Variax to load successfully. Admittedly I hadn't connected either to my PC for a while, so a lot could have changed in that time. To cut a long story short, the resolution for me has been to turn off Memory integrity in Core isolation in the Windows Defender Security Centre. Neither my audio interface nor phone had problems, so in my limited sample set only the Line 6 drivers were struggling. Is this a known phenomenon? Should the drivers load with Memory integrity enabled? In both cases the drivers are the current versions (1.91.0.0 and 1.0.7.2 for Helix and Variax respectively). I tried earlier Helix drivers but they had the same problem. My OS is Windows 10 Home, Version 1803.

Sending USB Midi tempo - iPad to Helix

Hello everyone, I need send a USB MIDI tempo from iPad to Helix. How I configure a Helix to receiving the MIDI parameters? I searching about for this here, but I don't find it. Tks
  24. To whom it may concern; here's how you get your POD HD Pro to function properly with a linux based OS. First off, you need a supported OS to run inside of your Linux OS, so get yourself a disc image (.iso) of Windows/OS-X. Note that I have only tried this with Windows XP Pro 32-bit under Ubuntu 12.04, so I really have no idea whether or not it works the same for OS-X and/or other hosts. Next, you'll need to set up a virtual system using a neat application called VirtualBox. Instructions on how to do this can be found in this video: (Virtualbox can be downloaded from https://www.virtualbox.org/) Now, once you've got your virtual system up and running and have installed the guest additions and what not, there are a few steps you need to take in order to enable USB support in you guest OS: 1. Shut down your virtual machine. 2. Connect your Pod. 3. In the Virtualbox UI, go to the virtual machine's "settings" page. 4. Under the "USB" tab, make sure that the option "Enable USB controller" is checked. Make sure the option "Enable USB 2.0 (EHCI) controller" is NOT checked. 5. Below the two aforementioned options is a list of USB device filters (probably empty). Click the small icon on the right hand side to add a filter, you should see your Pod listed along with any other connected devices. Create a filter for the Pod (no need to change any filter settings), and make sure it is checked. 6. There is a user group created by VirtualBox, called "vboxusers". You need to add yourself to this group. If you do not have the "Users and Groups" application in your user interface, open a terminal and enter the following command: sudo adduser "username" vboxusers, "username" being whatever your username is (without the quotation marks). 7. Reboot your computer. 8. Run your virtual machine and connect you Pod. If it isn't recognized by the guest OS, look under "Devices"»"USB devices" in the top menu bar. Make sure the Pod is checked. That should be just about it, although I may have left something out.
  25. Hello, I cannot seem to get the dry tracking option working in ProTools with my Helix. I've tried reading the Helix manual, looking through Helix posts, ProTools posts and any videos I can find but nothing so far. Here is what I have set up: In Helix I have: USB connected to Windows 10 PC in Global Settings I have USB In 1/2 set to Multi In the patch I have output set to Multi In ProTools I have: Playback Engine set to Helix I/O is reset to default with the Helix settings that populate automatically Tried mono track set to input 7 as well as input 8 and get no audio Tried stereo track set to input 7/8 and have no audio In Windows I have: Audio device to recording and playback set to Helix If I select input 1 I can record the processed track fine...no issues, but I cannot get the dry track to record. This is my first time trying this as I have always recorded the XLR out of Helix into my Focusrite interface. I wanted to try recording a dry track so I can use Helix Native to process the sound. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
