Hello, I recently thought about an idea that could increase the flexibility and functionality of the HX Stomp. I posted the idea on the Idea Scale. I would greatly appreciate any feedback or suppor for the idea if you like it. Here is the link to the post on the Idea Scale: https://line6.ideascale.com/c/idea/103088 And here is the idea itself: Adding a LOOPER MODE as a footswitch mode to the HX Stomp would be cool. It could be accessible as other modes or via MIDI (0=Stomp, 1=Scroll, 2=Preset, 3=Snapshot, 4=Next footswitch mode, 5=Previous footswitch mode, 6=LOOPER MODE). In this mode, you could have the 3 footswitches on the Stomp dedicated to the looper functions of the 1-switch looper, expanding on its functionality to a full 6-switch looper: FS1 - REC/OVEDUB (long press UNDO) FS2 - PLAY/STOP (long press HALF SPEED) FS3 - PLAY ONCE (long press REVERSE) LINE 6 has introduced LOOPER MODES in the past (M9, POD HD-500X), so maybe it is possible with the Stomp as well. This would greatly expand the functionality of the Stomp in my opinion, since one could be more flexible with assigning the footswitches in STOMP MODE.

Thanks everyone for getting into the Spider V. We hope you’re enjoying all that it has to offer. We’ve found that with certain new product launches, it’s helpful to keep a running thread of your experiences with connecting various Android mobile devices, whether it works or not. With such a wide variance in offerings and specs, it’s impossible for us to test all of them, so maybe this thread will help answer some customer questions, while possibly helping Line 6 spot issues/trends with a given group of devices. Here is the Spider V / Android Device USB Compatibility Check article that should help you find out if your device support USB Host Mode, which is required for the Spider V Remote app to communicate with Spider V amplifiers. Please post your device model, Android OS, and Compatibility Check results. Thanks for your input. Please remember to visit https://line6.ideascale.com with any feature requests you may have.

Apologies if this is already covered in the forum but I didn't see this specific topic during my searches. On Helix LT, I use modes for each song in a set with different snapshot in each mode. When switching modes to go to the next song, the Helix stays on the same snapshot number and I have to scroll back down to snapshot 1. Is there a way to automatically go to snapshot 1 when switching modes? Thanks

I'm making the transition from the Boss GT-100 to the HD 500. One of the things I LOVED about the GT was its ability to switch patches and THEN toggle the individual effects on and off inside your new patch. Switch patch and then go into stompbox mode. Having trouble figuring out how to do that on the HD. From what I understand you have to be in ABCD mode to toggle between patches and 5-8 mode to toggle FX on and off. Is there a way to switch modes on the fly like on the Boss unit - change patch and then go into stompbox mode?

Hi. I'm having trouble with my Helix Control. When i booted my rack unit up yesterday, the control also booted up in LCD Test mode. It switches between this and Update mode but never reverts back to presets. The rack is recognising this as having not been updated. I clicked update but it does nothing and just keep repeating, asking to update. I can't seem to get it out of the test mode so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Picture for reference

Note: The Spider III was released in 2006 and discontinued in 2010. The Spider III is now listed as a Legacy Product. Q: How are the Artist preset banks categorization and alphabetized? A:When looking at the list of the banks in the unit, the banks seem to be broken into four different sections: 1. Albert Lee - Julien K 2. Ash - Volto 3. The Accident Experiment - Thursday 4. Songs 50's - Misc. Fun Each of the first 3 sections (artist banks) is alphabetized. Is there a reason all the artist presets overall aren't alphabetized? The artist banks are categorized by Clean, Dirty and Heavy: 1. Albert Lee - Julien K: Cleaner patches 2. Ash - Volto: Midgainy patches 3. The Accident Experiment - Thursday: Heavily overdriven patches Q: How do I perform a factory reset on my Spider III? Line 6 Device Factory Reset Procedures Q: How do I use the compare mode (to find where the knobs were originally set)? A: Press and hold the Tap button, then turn the Amp Models knob. This activates Spider III's "Compare mode". Now turn any knob other than Amp Model and Master Volume, and the channel lights will tell you whether you need to turn that knob up (Channel A lights) or down (Channel D lights) to match the stored setting. The Channel B & C lights will be lit at the same time once the knob position matches the stored setting exactly. Q: How do I connect the Spider III HD 150 to the Spider Cabinet? A: The Spider III HD 150 is designed to see a load on *both * speaker outputs by connecting the left and the right inputs to the Spider cabinet with speaker cables. Running the Spider III HD 150 into a 4 ohm load may result in damage to the amplifier. Please see the following link for more information: Cabinet Connection and Ohm F.A.Q. Q: Can I use two Spider III cabinets with the Spider III HD 150? A:The Spider III HD 150 was designed to power a single Spider III Stereo Cabinet with a stereo 8 ohm load. Using two Spider III cabs would require a modification to each cab so that they are each rewired to produce a 8 ohm mono load. This modification would preferably be done by an authorized Line 6 service center, which can be located from the Service Center link on the Support page. Q: How do I connect external speakers to my Spider III 150 amplifier? A: You will need to disconnect the internal speakers (covering the dry-solder clips with electrical tape) and connect both external speaker outputs to an 8 ohm (or higher) load. Do not connect just one side, as this may cause a power amp failure. Powering the internal speakers along with a external speakers may cause a power amp failure and is not supported. Q: What type of speaker is used on the Spider III combo series? Spider III 15: Custom 15 (4 ohm) Spider III 30: Celestion G12E50 (4 ohm) Spider III 75/150: Celestion G12P80 (8 ohm) Spider III 120:(2) Celestion G10P80 (8 ohm)

Just posted this on Ideascale. For all those who are needing more Snapshots on the Helix. Two Phase Snapshot Footswitches Mode Idea Actions My idea is to enable two Snapshots per footswitch and be able to A/B between them. Repeatedly stepping on a footswitch toggles between the two Snapshots assigned to that footswitch. This would effectively give you 16 total snapshots or 8 if you're in Preset/Snap mode. http://line6.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Two-Phase-Snapshot-Footswitches-Mode/857489-23508

Hi All, I am writing you to propose the creation of a new footswitch mode which I believe would be very useful, especially for rehearsal or gigs. I usually use just a few presets (around 8), each including a few “direct access switches†such as volume boost on/off, modulation on/off that I often use. In order to do this I need to run my mighty Helix in STOMP footswitch mode. Unfortunately, this means that I have to step on BANK UP or DOWN every time I have to change the preset, in order to temporarily enter PRESET mode. This is not very comfortable as I have to always stomp two times to select a new preset. My proposal is to create a new mode, “MIX MODEâ€, where · FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5: correspond to FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 footswitch of the STOMP MODE, · FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11: correspond to FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11 of the PRESET mode. This will allow the player to easily: 1. recall a new preset, by simply stomping on FS8, FS9, FS10 and FS11 (just one stomp) 2. activate/deactivate the preset’s FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 direct access switches using FS2, FS3, FS4 and FS5 (just one stomp) 3. Scroll through the banks by using FS1 and FS7 (just one stomp) This behavior would be similar to traditional MIDI controllers, such as MARK-L FX 25 ACE: it has a row of footswitches to recall presets and another one for direct access switches. What do you think of this idea?

my helix arrives tomorrow, so perhaps this will become obvious once I start fiddling with the unit, BUT.. What are the primary differences between the two modes: preset & stombox?? From an application standpoint, I mean. I would love to have 5 or 6 FS assigned to different amp stacks. None of these amp stacks will have any fx built-in. I would also like 2 or 3 FS assigned to my most used delay & verb. I plan on running most of my spacial & modulation fx through the fx loops to my eventide h9's...using the helix mainly for different amp tones. I'm in a gigging cover band, & I'm trying to envision what type of tap-dance I will have to do during a show.

Hi all! This is Andre, I speak from Brazil and I need some guidance on how to get the best out of my recordings with Pocket Pod. Hope this catch your attention. I currently use Pocket Pod’s AMP OUT plugged into a guitar link USB interface, which goes straight to my laptop. I set it to DIRECT MODE. To listen to what I’m playing while recording, I use POD DIRECT OUT into my peavey 15w amplifier. It’s working as a monitor. And to listen to what was recorded, I use an Edifier speaker, plugged in my laptop. Obviously, neither the amp nor the speaker are good references to the REAL sound. What I need is make sure that when I tweak the knobs on my pocket pod, I’ll listen to the real changes through my monitor, and listen to the same tone through my speaker after recording. Do I need a pair of proper monitors? I hope you can tell me what I need to do. Thanks in advance Andre

Hey I just bought this second hand so I don't have a manual or anything, I worked out how to switch from volume to wah, but I can't work out how to switch it to tweak mode so it acts as an expression pedal for some stomp boxes (eg, bender) I know it can be done because some presets already have it done, and both lights for volume and wah light up when the mode is in use. It's probably simple but can anyone help me?? I want to be able to use it as a whammy etc as well. Thanks in advance :)

Hi there. I couldnt find an answer to my problem on the web so im asking here now. My X3L's expression pedal stopped working. Since im out of warranty, i opened it and checked for solder problems and also cleaned the sensors, all seems fine. Then i rememberd that theres the Safe Mode with pedal calibration, so i fired it up and to my surprise the pedal worked, as in i was able to calibrate it (it goes smoothly from 0-255) and it also showed the "P" for passed settings (i think?) However, it doesnt do a thing in normal mode, neither in Wah, Volume nor Tweak mode. It also doesnt switch the Wah/Vol LEDs when using the toe switch, but im not to sure if it even does that in the first place since i only use it in Tweak mode. I already tried it with factory resets + firmware rollbacks. I dont really know what else i could try. Do i have to save/apply the changes i made in Safe Mode, appart from saving the calibration itself with the D stomp knob? Would be nice if someone could suggest anything, or maybe even had this problem before and solved it. Thanks.
