I've been the owner of the TonePort UX2 since its release [I actually have two, just in case one ever fails] As Gear Box was not supported on anything newer than Mojave, that's what I'm still on, with my maxed-out cheesegrater Mac Pro 5,1 [& a similarly-equipped MBP]. Because I've been stuck for so long in this time capsule, i haven't investigated new moves in the driver/software world, until today I spotted the new Line 6 Central, and then the fact that we have drivers even for newer Apple silicon Macs. I don't see anything that would enable Gear Box, though. I presume Central is the new Monkey, acting as a license handler, but does it have additional functionality? I haven't seen any pictures of the interface yet & can't find a manual [because yes, I can rtfm if I can find one ;). Is this correct, and is there anything that will actually enable the UX2 guitar/mic amps, plus give access to editing - because, of course, they don't enable until you launch Gear Box ordinarily. I have an M1 iMac on Ventura I could test this out on - but it's set up a long way from my studio & would be a fair bit of hassle only to find I don't have this essential bit of functionality.

Hello! I want to use HX Stomp XL as audio interface. My problem is that simple audio playback and recording are as noisy as changing frequencies between radio stations. The sound is unrecognisable. Sound file attached. Of course, I installed HX Edit and the firmware, everything is the latest version. The pedal works perfectly with the bass, I can also work properly in HX Edit. I did reset Stomp to factory settings. The problem persists. There are no special settings in the Audio MIDI setup. 48000khz and Steam 1. (image attached below) I also checked the cables. Attached the Ableton settings image below. Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 was previously installed on the Macbook, which works flawlessly (and all other audio interfaces too). Could this be interfering with Stomp? OS and software versions: - macOS Sonoma 14.3.1 - HX Stomp XL Firmware 3.71.0 - HX Edit 3.70 - Line 6 Helix Driver2 Version 1.5.0 - DAW: Ableton Live 11 lite version 11.3.21 I read the HX Stomp maunal, asked Google, Youtube, AI to review the docs and asked him, but I couldn't find the solution. What did I miss? Any ideas? I tried it on Dell Inspiron with Windwos 10, that one is a bit older notebook. Focusrite was also installed before, tried with it, then uninstalled it as its possible. But the results were the same. Audio MIDI Setup Ableton settings xs-stomp-xl-rec-sound.mp3

Some users of macOS might receive a system extension error message if they're connecting their device, or starting their computer. What to do if you get this error message on your Mac: The alert may ask you to open Security & Privacy preferences to allow the extension. You may also need to restart your Mac. The alert may ask you to contact the developer for support because the extension needs to be updated or will be incompatible with a future version of macOS. If you continue to get this message, you may need to remove the driver extension with these steps: The alert may ask you to open Security & Privacy preferences to allow the extension. You may also need to restart your Mac. On a Mac with Apple silicon, you may first need to use Startup Security Utility to set the security policy to Reduced Security and select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox.

Today (my second day of Catalyst 100 ownership) the Catalyst Edit software on my M1 MacBook Pro would not see the amp. The Mac's "Audio Midi Setup" saw the Catalyst as both a valid midi host and as audio input and output. The Edit software itself took a very long time to load whether the amp was connected or powered on or whatever. This was odd because yesterday, upon initial setup, everything worked as expected. I was able to back up the default settings of the amp to my Mac, create new Presets and same them both to the Mac and the Catalyst. I tried many things (new USB cable, reinstall of software, factory reset of amp). No love. The solution - Go to Applications and find the "Catalyst Edit" app. CTL, Click and select "Get Info". Click to select the box labeled "Open using Rosetta". Launch the app It now works great! Are we ready for the super odd part. I can close the app, turn off the "Open using Rosetta" setting and it still works! Not to creep the scope of things too much in this thread, but... Catalyst Edit was also not working on my iPad Air with Apple silicon over USB today. However, after the above procedure, it also now works without any changes on that device. At any rate. I hope my experience helps some unfortunate user of Apple silicon with this app. Tom

I'm really struggling with a solid USB connection to the Helix. I use the cable provided by Line 6, in the back of a Mac Mini, with nothing else plugged into any of the ports. I've never been able to update the Helix on the first try, it usually takes 4-5 attempts for an upgrade to happen, and in the meantime I lose all my presets. I only use HX Edit when I want to load Its, but after copying 4 or 5 Its, the connection drops with "Connection Interrupted" at the bottom. I've never had such an unstable connection to a device, especially one that has integral power so isn't drawing power over USB. What can I do to solve this, as this is an incredibly frustrating situation.

macOS 10.13/10.14/10.15/11.4 has implemented an additional security layer for kernel extension drivers, such as the Line 6 audio drivers. After the Line 6 device is connected, the customer must open the Security Control Pane and accept the Line 6 driver in order for the device to be recognized. Typically, but not always you'll see this message when your driver gets blocked, or is not available for use with your DAW: However, sometimes the driver gets blocked and the message won't appear. Your driver and hardware simply won't work. In either case, you'd need to approve the driver in System Preferences > Security & Privacy: Additional information about this change can be found at https://developer.apple.com/library/content/technotes/tn2459/_index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS40017658 For some cases if the "Allow" button does not change anything, or the "Allow" button does NOT disappear after clicking. Please try these steps: Go into: System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Select 'All Controls'. Then: Go back to System Preferences > Privacy & Security > Press 'Tab' until 'Allow' is selected > Press 'Spacebar'. Note: the Privacy & Security page may need to be unlocked before 'Tab' will work.

Well I decided to updated my 13 years old laptop and upgrade to a Macbook. Seems like the recent updates on the page have no effect on scanning my device. Honestly my device was working well in my DAW application before I decided to download the license manager and pro x edit. Now no device shows up. Anyone else still use this rack unit and have or have had the same problem? I did uninstall and re-install but nothing seems to work..

macOS 10.15 Catalina Compatibility
Line6Tony posted a article in Operating System-specific Information
With a few exceptions, macOS 10.15 (Catalina) is supported by our currently active applications and drivers. Below is a detailed rundown of compatibility issues for Line 6 products on a case-by-case basis. If you run into any problems or have a question for us, please reach out via the Contacts page (https://line6.com/company/contact/). Editors: • All currently supported editors work as expected. • The following editors are no longer supported at this time and will not work on Catalina: Line 6 Edit Vyzex Backtrack Utility Updaters • Line 6 Updater works as expected. • Line 6 Monkey is not compatible with macOS 10.15 (Catalina). A solution for Catalina customers to update firmware is in-progress. Drivers • All currently supported drivers and devices work as expected except for the Helix custom driver. • Helix class compliant audio works as expected. • The Helix custom driver (which adds support for additional sample rates) does not yet work correctly. Plug-ins • Currently, Helix Native and POD Farm 2 work as expected on all supported DAWs, except Cubase, as there is no 64-bit VST version of POD Farm 2 for macOS. As DAWs are updated to adopt Apple’s latest requirements and security measures, our plug-ins may need to be updated to continue working with those DAWs. We will work with DAW vendors to update Helix Native and POD Farm 2, but we cannot guarantee that they will not release updates that break our compatibility. If you run into trouble installing our software under Catalina, please see this article: If you've updated to Catalina and you're having trouble with the software that we list in the article as working, it's likely you have a 32-bit version of those programs installed. Please uninstall them and then download the latest version of them, which will be 64-bit. We also have an article that describes how to run older OS versions in order to use discontinued software. -
drivers hd500x POD HD500x - corrupted driver on MacOS Lion 10.7.5
Smashcraaft posted a topic in POD HD
I have problems on an older Mac Pro with the MacOS OS-X Lion 10.7.5 The latest driver is shown as 7.3.7 but no matter how I install it (via the monkey or manually) the driver neither does update in the monkey ("update selection") nor let me connect the POD via HD Edit or the licence manager. HD Edit crashes on directly start. The licence manager shows the computer as activated but no device. The driver is shown as outdated even if the POD is not connected. Of cause I tried to uninstall the driver via the uninstall-tool and to restart the mac. Of cause I have tried 2 different USB cables (both working on another machine). I have tried everything & several times… no luck!- 10 replies

Base info: System: macOS Mojave 10.14.2 Hardware: MacBook Pro 2016, Line 6 Pod X3 Pro Line 6 driver version: 7.6.8 Line 6 Monkey version: 1.78 Line 6 License Manager version: 1.13 Line 6 Monkey does not recognize installed driver and connected device, same as License Manager. However Pod is avaiable in System Preferences as Audio-MIDI Device and works perfectly with Pod Farm 2.59. Because of problem with License Manager i cant use full version of Pod Farm. On Windows laptop everything works like a charm (via usb 2.0 and usb-c connectivity). Any ideas what is wrong with License Manager on macOS Mojave?

Hello, this is my first post here , having bought an HX Stomp, that I am very happy with and the Helix Native that seems to have "issues", Let's start with my setup: Helix Native 1.82 / Helix2.80 compatible Macbook Pro, Mojave 10.14.6 Intel Core i5 - 2.4 GHz RAM: 8 GB UAD apollo | twin a small set up but - this still comes in ok for running Helix and Cubase Pro 10.5.5, set up correctly. 1. Helix plugin window closes without warning, upon opening in Cubase 10.5.+ Utterly frustrating. There is no pattern and no sign of how long the Native plugin will stay open for. Often it's simply Open>Close>Open>Close>Open>Close>Open... then at some point it may actually stay open for enough time to edit something. Totally Random, several installs, cleanups = no real difference. I have read that there seems to be ongoing problems with Cubase and Native, just from the BugFixes alone listed on the updates, well it appears to still have issues. 2. Huge difference between the same presets on the Native compared to the Stomp - (unless it's a line 6 preset): Yes, I realise this is a topic discussed here somewhat. I follow the advise of Line 6 and my Instrument / Host in levels (Native) are around -12db to -8db, and correctly gain staged from the Guitar>UAD. It's Fizz - a massive High End Boost from somewhere. I enclose 4 files of short mp3's: 1A. FX Stereo Swirl. HX Native set to "Stomp Emulation". 1B Same default preset from the HX Stomp You can hear differences - the Helix is Brighter - but it is straight from the the host, no cables, etc. BUT quite liveable. The Stomp is narrower in Soundstage, but the sound is also denser. So good So far, though would be nice if they were "indistinguishable". WARNING TURN VOLUME DOWN FOR 2A Own Hammer Simple Helix Native (Stomp Emulation).mp3 The next 2 files: WARNING TURN VOLUME DOWN FOR 2A Own Hammer Simple Helix Native (Stomp Emulation).mp3 2A Own Hammer Simple Helix Native (Stomp Emulation).mp3 2B Own Hammer Simple Stomp.mp3 are a preset I have made. I have made it on both Stomp and Helix Native discreetly, I have also loaded the Stomp version into the Helix Native. The results are the same: The difference is obvious. The IR's I use are from 'Own Hammer' & 'Lancaster Audio' , and the path is very simple: IN (Noise Gate ON) > Line 6 Bandonk > IR. Well There you have my long boring 1st Post. Tell me - Am I expecting too much here? Disregarding the output volume - the inputs are all about the same - certainly close enough for Rock and Roll: about -10Db.. Am I whinging? Am I mistakenly under the impression that the Stomp is seperate sound wise from the Helix and the Native etc? Especially considering how close the inbuilt presets are? Also I am a double Bassist. Don't shoot my guitar - or me - I am only learning. If you have any thoughts about any of this please respond. Thanks for reading. T x. Reference Files.zip

Once I updated my Macbook Pro late 2013 to MacOS Sierra 10.12 the UX2 usb audio interface crashes the computer. Everytime I plug in the ux2 interface, the computer immediately restarts and gives the error message (white text on black background). I have tried both of my Mac's usb slots, tried taking everything off of the interface (monitors etc.) and tried it with and without power cable on my computer. Also, when I try to start my computer while the UX2 is plugged in, the Mac's starting screen has some white error messages and then the computer restarts. Nothing helps. So atm I CAN'T USE THE INTERFACE AT ALL. Pod Farm software doesn't seem to have any problems. Please tell me if you've had these problems or you can help.

Hello everyone I recently had to reinstall completely all my OS from scratch and nothing survived. No backups. all from zero. Unfortunately the UX1 drivers previously kept on a folder in the old hard drive won't open now, and Monkey line 6 seems unable to reinstall my software. Is there any way to recover my software for the UX1/

Hey guys! I'm a MacOS user and I've been happily recording and practicing through my Helix using GarageBand. My band is about to record a song and we decided to experiment a bit recording techniques and use my Helix to lay all guitar tracks. To better prepare I wanted to try re-amping. This can't be done in GB as I can't route track output to Helix's USB inputs. I installed Reaper to try it. It sees my Helix as an audio device, is set to record it but it doesn't. When I play on an armed track, no signal shows up on the volume meter. Same thing in Cubase 8 LE. I can open Repaer and get no recording singal, then Cubase and get nothing. When I open GB everything works as expected. Could you help me troubleshoot this thing please? I can provide screenshots of config screens if necessary. I think that the DAWs are pretty much the same interface-wise across OSes ;) PS. If that's important I'm on a mid-2015 MBP with Mojave 10.14.3.

Hi everyone, I am a new line6 helix LT user which seeking for a home studio level usage for guitar and computer audio output. Problem 1: create a huge voltage sound while connecting USB from helix LT and scarlett 2i2 (Gen1) both https://line6.com/helix/helix-lt.html https://focusrite.com/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-2i2 Problem 2: while playing a jack plug-in guitar, it has two sound come from the monitor(Yahama HS5): normal simulated guitar sound and a noise similar to max volume from small inch amp at the same time https://usa.yamaha.com/products/proaudio/speakers/hs_series/index.html So, here is my basic setting and equipment I already have. Setting 1: *Problem 2 exist Setting 2: *Problem 1 and Problem 2 exist of course, the setting 2 is the most suitable way for my preference, but problem 2 is the most I want to solve it cause an intrusive noise while I am playing Please let me know if there are any reason or solution i can duel with. Thank you so much for the help.

I have a PodXt Live and a JTV-69. Both really nice pieces of equipment!! However, I'm stuck with what's on them because I'm a Mac user and upgraded to High Sierra. Line 6 Edit for editing and saving my channel banks requires Java6 and even if you install it, High Sierra will start going bonkers with Java AWT errors when using it. What else can I use to manage/backup/edit my Pod Xt Live? Now, when it comes to Workbench HD, sure it all looks like it will work, but when it first starts up, it times out trying to download the presets. When I try to change body style or make some other change, it just freezes. This happens on multiple computers, one running Sierra and the other High Sierra. It just seems like the software quality and support has gone downhill. I can't make any changes to either pieces of equipment. Heck, I even tried on someone's Windows 10 machine and Workbench did the exact same thing, and I couldn't even get Line 6 Edit installed on it. To Line 6: Look, your equipment is great, it lasts a REALLY long time. But, you just can't forsake software when the operating systems advance. If you don't see it being cost beneficial to do so, then open up the software and allow the open source community to manage it. I spent my entire holiday trying to edit/customize my equipment settings and got absolutely nowhere. Any advice from out there in the ether? Any similar experiences?

Simple question here. I have a really awesome set of bluetooth headphones and just bought a Pod UX1 to compliment my Spider Valve MKII. I have opened Logic Pro X and also tried Garageband and noticed latency. I also noticed that Pod Farm will not work with the BT headphones at all. Like the original question asks, is latency avoidable? Also, is it possible to get Pod Farm to see the BT headphones. System is a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz i7 with 16GB RAM. Thanks everyone.

I am using POD XT since 2006 as interface for connecting my guitar to computer. Everything has been worked fine under Windows and on Mac until upgrade to OS X 10.11 El Capitan. From time to time there was a message about communication errors with device in driver configuration window. Because there was no "Repair permissions" option in Disk Utility, I have used "/usr/libexec/repair_packages" command in Terminal. Week ago I made clean install of macOS Sierra 10.12.3 and updated to 10.12.4. Communication problem still appears. There is no low-level tools to repair file permissions in macOS Sierra. How can I fight with this errors? I have MacBook Pro 15 mid 2014 with powerful CPU, enough RAM and fast SDD. There is no special software installed. Only Logic Pro X and iWork. Everything is updated to the newest versions.

Choppy audio with UX8 and macOS Sierra
waxmachine posted a topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Hi! I updated my MacBook Pro 2015 to macOS sierra (10.12.3) and now I get choppy audio output with my Toneport UX8. There are a lot of short gaps and listening to music or watching video is really a pain. I tried it with different audio programs. Even the system sounds are choppy. It worked well with El Capitan. So it must be a problem with the new OS version or with the drivers. I already downloaded the latest driver version 7.6.7 but it didn't help. There are no other programs running which could interfere with the audio output. CPU usage is very low. Is anybody else experiencing the same problem with UX8 or another Toneport or Line6 device? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot! Michel
