  1. I ended up getting the 59p (gold top). Seems like most people prefer the 69 for the pickup switch and the strat feel. I have to admit that the looks of the guitar was a factor in picking one over the other, again a personal preference. Thanks for everyone's feedback!
  2. Unfortunately I cant fin either in local stores here. Is te modelling the exact same on both models? Does the 3 way switch on the 59P provide huge limitations?
  3. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a JTV purchase. I can't decide between the 59P and the 69. Just wanted to get others' opinions on why they prefer one over the other, other than the pickups. I know the pickups are more of a personal preference but looking for opinions outside of that. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the reply. While I am still reading it and trying to absorb all the useful info in there, I do want to mention that the HD Desktop doesn't have L6 Link option so I believe the DT25 is out of question.
  5. Hello All, Up until now, I have been using the HD Desktop via headphones but I plan to jam with some friends soon and also perform live. Couple of questions here: 1) Do you recommend connecting the HD to an Amp or a PA? 2) If amp, do you have recommendations for any amp that I can use for jamming as well as performing in live situations? Thanks!
  6. I am contemplating buying one of these to use with the pod hd desktop. Need recommendations on which ones are better for shaping guitar tones. I have had headphones where I would love a guitar tone on the headphones but then I'd play it on my monitors and it doesn't sound any close. I also know that there are probably other headphones that are recommended more than either of these to be used with the pod hd, however, I am not looking at any other brand at this point of time so I'd like to keep the discussion between these 2 models. Thanks for your help!
  7. I posted this a few days ago and I thought it's happening because I was using very low buffer to reduce latency but I realized that's not what's causing the below issue as it's happening even when the buffers/samples are set to high: I am using a POD HD300 plugged into my PC via USB. Lately, every now and then, the cursor just freezes during playback/recording when I am using the HD300. I am using the HD300 ASIO drivers. I noticed this happen on 2 different PCs. I also swapped out the USB cable but that didn't resolve the issue. It seems like the HD300 ASIO driver freezes/crashes. Does this mean that there is a potential hardware issue with the HD300? If I use a different interface, I don't have this issue. Sometimes I can use the POD for hours without any problems but then if I come back and turn it back on, I run into this issue again. This usually gets resolved if I wait a couple of hours and plug every thing back in. Also, the POD by itself is working fine. I can change presets, use the POD Software on the PC without any issues. The only thing I cannot do is play or record via the HD300 in Reaper. Thanks for your help!
  8. I have been using the POD HD300 for about 8 months now without any issues, until recently. The HD300 is connected to the PC using the USB cable and I am using Reaper as the DAW. Lately, when I turn on the HD300, plug the usb cable into the PC, open Reaper, it shows the ASIO driver but when I hit play or record, nothing happens. I hear slight pops and crackles but the cursor doesn't move at all.Nothing has changed in my setup (no new programs installed). I even reset the PC to factory settings but that didn't help much. I also tried changing the USB cable but still no luck. I have the latest drivers and firmware in the Line 6 Monkey, for the POD HD300. Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks for your inputs.
  9. Can I use the HD300 as an audio interface for vocals? I know I can connect a mic using XLR cable but how do I record something without going through an amp model, just like I would with a regular audio interface? Thanks!
  10. Thank you for your reply. So even if I get the selector selector I'd still have to switch the USB cable on the PC to select the interface vs hd390, right? Or is there a way to bypass that as well?
  11. I am recording my guitar using just the hd300 plugged into my computer. After recording i like to listen using my monitors which are plugged into my audio interface. So I have to keep switching between the hd300 and the audio interface. I know I can connect the hd300 to the audio interface using xlr or 1/4" cable and record via the interface. However, if i do that i cannot access the pod edit software. Is there a way around this. I create/modify presets on the edit so i like to have access to that. I guess the other option is to have the hd300 connected to a second computer that can be used to modify just the presets but it's still a pain. Any suggestions? Thanks!
