  1. If it was set to the magnetic the variax models just would not work. Can anyone check it? I read the manual, everything looks right, the manual states "Selects the Variax model and pickup position setting. When set to "Don't Force," Helix respects the Variax's current setting", but it doesn't seem to be working properly. If I set the Variax to the Tele model for example, if I change the preset, Helix will turn it off, even if I set the correct setting to "don't force". Is it a bug or something? Can anyone check on their own stuff?
  2. I got used to not using the VDI cable, but I like the idea of not having to worry about running out of juice in the middle of a gig. I've tried setting everything on "don't force" and the settings are set to "global", but when I change patches Helix will turn off the Variax and get to the magnetic pickups. If I'm doing something wrong I can't see it. Anyone?
  3. /\ This. Had the same issue, downloaded the newest Helix application and it worked.
  4. Doing some tests I found out the audio with the VDI cable is just awful. With the regular pickups it sounds bright as hell, and at a lesser level it will dull the variax models. Using a regular cable makes the Variax experience much better IMO, witch is frustrating, because I got the Variax with the Helix because I wanted to be able to change my Variax settings through Helix, as well as the benefit of not having to worry about the battery. Is there a work around or am I stuck?
  5. Not sure where else to talk about this, so... Expomusic just happened last week in São Paulo, the biggest music expo in Latin America, and the big news presented on the Line 6 stand was... The James Tyler Variax. Not even kidding, you can watch it on YouTube. Local distributor has a website, Facebook page, and there's nothing about Helix or any other product launched after a year ago. I've tried to contact them multiple times and got no response at all. This is standard over here, and it's really frustrating. I'm just trying to make this known hoping that Line 6 does agree this is not the way it should be done and try to make the local distributor get up to speed, or change it to another one willing to do it right.
