  1. Ok so I'm a complete dumbass. Remember when I said that it's probably something so simple? PREAMP! I went right in with the L6 cable and then it dawned on me.....try the preamps in the Helix. No amps/cabs.....just preamps for every patch. OMG what a difference! No over bassy, distorted, or tinty tones so far. All the patches I've switched to preamps sound so much better. Again I'm a dumbass but I'm a persistent dumbass! Makes me want to call in sick tomorrow at work.
  2. Awesome! I'll try that as soon as I get home from work tonight! Thanks for the info!
  3. I didn't turn off the modeling and I am plugged in by the L6 link.

    Helix/DT25 1x12

Got my Helix a little over a week ago and I'm having some issues plugging into my Line 6 DT50 1x12 amp. I've tried plugging directly in, using the 4 cable method, and by using the XLR as well. Any way I've tried it I just get overloaded tones and they sound over saturated. I know it's gotta be something simple that I'm not doing. Any advice or help would be highly appreciated.
  5. I used to work in the sales office at Warmoth an I did have a customer use a replacement neck on his 69 Variax. The specks are the same in regards to the neck heel and pocket and all turned out well for him. He did let me know that he did have to do some minor sanding to the heel and pocket to get a proper fit. Very little if any is what he told me because of it being such a tight fit. A Warmoth 24.75" is made to those same spec's as well so no worries! I have an 89-F and have thought about gutting it and installing it all into a custom build. Hope it works for you and do let me know how it goes!
  6. I just ordered one from Sweetwater. Will be here on 11/19.....my Bday.
  7. I need to know which cable I need to get to pair up my Variax 89F to my HD500. Sorry for the newbie question but I just want to make one trip to the store lol. Any help would be great! Thanks
  8. We make some great stuff that's for sure! Any pros or cons in regards to the 89F? I just want to know what I'm in for besides loss of sleep and calused fingertips. I tried one out at my local shop and was amazed by the sounds and tones that I was able to hear. I'm soooooooo looking for it to get delivered!
  9. Hello all! I actually work at Warmoth and unfortunately we don't have or can we make anything that would work with the 89 or 89F. I have dealt with one customer that had the 69 Strat style Variax and with some minor sanding of the neck pocket he was able to get it to fit and it worked great for him! Our necks and bodies that we make are built to Fender spec's and here's a link that show what spec's and dimensions that we build to http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Necks/faq2.aspx No up selling on my part but just wanted to share some knowledge! For repair work I'd be happy to refer you to www.ntlguitar.com That guy has some pics of some resotration and repair work that look absolutely flawless! I hope that helps. I have a brand new 89F coming to me next week that I got off of eBay so this post peaked my interest. I'll let you all know how my 89F purchase turns out after I get it.
