I was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland today (sorry no Helix sightings). They have an interactive exhibit where you can try different guitars and organs. The sound comes from these plastic domes mounted in the ceiling with speakers on the inside. You can hear them very clearly when you stand directly under them, but when you move to the edge or out from under them, the sounds dissipates almost 100%. I was thinking these would be full for home use where you do not want to disturb others and do not want to use headphones. I took the studio speaker back and got a QSC K10. Problem solved! :) Sounds awesome too.

First thing I Saturday when I bought the Helix LT was flash the firmware. I thought maybe that did not go right so I re-did it and it helped with the volume issue a bit and cleaned up the sound. I connected another audio device to the speaker and while it sounds great the JBL was not very loud. Back it goes to the store. Probably get a Alto and call it done. I was reluctant about getting a PA speaker to begin with because many are rated at 1000 watts and I did not want to blow out the neighbors.

I am an IT guy at an enormous world-wide-known corporation for my real job. :)

How is it for practicing at home in low roommate-friendly levels?

It's a false positive for malware. My guess is that Line 6 has a little pop up program that auto-starts when you put the USB stick in that let's the user chose which owner's manual they need. The anti-virus does not recognize it and shuts is down as it should.

Bought it at Guitar Center.

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same problem. Low output. I reset everything back to factory default. I have the Helix connected to a JBL LS308 studio speaker with XLR. Using the 1/4" output does not change anything either. The outputs are set to line. Any suggestions?

I bought a Helix LT this weekend and got the same warning when I put the USB stick in my laptop.
