Hey guys… I’m trying to update my helix floor to 3.0… HX Edit updated normally ... It appears to be stuck at this point… It never started updating the helix floor apparently although it says firmware downloaded successfully… Suggestions?

sorry if I missed it , but where are the Step By Step instructions to properly execute this update ? Are there any videos of the same ? Having had nightmares in the past , I am a bit gun shy .....

hey guys ... embarrassed to ask ... but ... I'm trying out some Brett Shull presets and am not getting any volume/sound from them .... I know it's simple ... but ... all other pres and snaps are fine ...

yo boyz ... would some one be so kind as to simply spell out , step by step , how to make expression pedal 1 be the Wah controller without using the toe switch. I use a Mission pedal into Exp2 for my volume pedal. hopefully , with the heel down ; the pedal is out of the chain completely , but turns on as the pedal is rocked forward to initiate the Wah . I find the toe switch difficult to trigger and a pain in the lollipop ! trust this makes sense ..... thx in advance, rb

no , it doesn't stop the rebuild , .. it says "rebuilding presets" and quickly counts up by ones at a rate of about 10 per two seconds , then just stops briefly on one number (currently 216) and then finishes within 2 seconds ... skipping from 216 to 898 thru 915 and done. might have to do what bobcoss did and delete all factory presets to solve this ..

I think this may be a 2.82 quirk ... i tried silverhead's method although his math was difficult. my helix was stopping on only preset 220 in the rebuild , and then quickly skipped to the end. i figured 220 was factory setlist 2, bank 23 , slot D. i overwrote it with a new preset to delete it. upon restart, it stopped only on 219. did the same delete for all of bank 23. now it stops on 216 and then skips to the end quickly ... do we have to live with this ?

yo all .... is it normal to have the helix "rebuild presets" every time you turn the unit on ? I don't remember that delay before.

one more thx to Peter .... finally got it .. not sure how ! ... many attempts ; reloaded the HX Edit 5 times, tried button restarts, computer restarts , etc. ... the hammer was looking good ! then , did an install all normally again and it flew thru w/o issue and w/o the dreaded error pause in the middle !?? ... man , it hope Line 6 gets their lollipop together before 2.90 comes out !! be well all , rb

Thx again for help Peter .... i've been stuck for two hours ! Do you mean turn the helix floor off and on with the buttons pressed where i am with the line 6 updater running at the stall point ? .. or .... ?

i am Updating from 2.71 to 2.82. How long did it take for you guys to get the second phase of the update of the firmware to get past the “boot failure entered update mode” screen on the helix?

i am running versions of 2.71 on my Helix and in HX Edit. Can I update directly to 2.82 on both ? i.e. no need to update to 2.80 first ...

I've been away on holidaze for a few weeks. i just got back and felt i was brave enough to try again to upgrade my firmware and HX edit to the 2.82 versions. I had tried and failed a couple months ago and I went back to 2.71 in both the firmware and the edit and was doing fine. Today, I hooked up my Helix floor (which is working fine) to my PC running Windows 10. I cannot get HX Edit to recognize my floor unit no matter what ! I have tried restarts , different USB cables and every 3.0 USB port on my computer. HX edit was fine before I went away. All I get is ... HX Edit no device connected Any help most appreciated ...!

Hey guys .... i appreciate what help i got. i tried every combination of updates, cords, ports, restarts, safe boots for the last 36 hours ... although i don't know why ... i finally was able to get the 2.80 updater to recognize my helix ; after many attempts to reload version 2.71 that failed ... i finally got one to go through and restore my unit to 2.71. all of my presets. snapshots, and settings relaoded automatically. i did not have to restore my backup with HXEdit. .... not sure why .. but glad for it !! Future updates will have to be bullet proof for me to try this again .. !!

thx so much rsvette12 for the response. Unfortunately, my Line6 Updater still does not recognize my Helix when I open the Updater. Please tell me if you just turned your Helix on or did you push any buttons while you booted ( i.e. 6 & 12 for a safe boot) . Also , at what point did you reboot (turn on) your Helix . I got the Updater to see my Helix once , but when I tried to install 2.71 , it said it was but nothing happened. I even did the x out and pushed "no" but still no progress on the install. Any further info MOST appreciated.

I have wasted over a day trying to install the horrible 2.80 update for my Helix floor. I surrender ! I am stuck with an unusable unit .. Could someone PLEASE tell me the steps required to go back to my 2.71 version which i did backup prior to entering the Hell of the 2.80 install .. My updated HX edit does not recognize my Helix. It either doesn't see it at all or tries to connect, fails, and says connection interupted. My Line6 Updater recognizes my Helix about one out of ten tries but all attempts to install 2.80 then fail ..! When I turn my Helix on , it briefly says my version is 2.80 (which never installed) just before going to a boot failure screen. I have tried many USB cords and all USB ports with no hubs involved . Someone please tell me (and many others) how to go back ... step-by-step ! this sucketh bigtime ... gig tomorrow !!

when my Helix floor reboots it shows on screen version 2.80 for a second before going to the entered update mode" screenshot... now, i keep getting "üpdate failed messages, please try again" on both the helix floor and in the line 6 updater screen ...!! How can I go back to 2.71 and recover backup ? Load HX edit 2.71 first ? then the 2.71 firmware ?

I did the safe reboot and re-ran my updater ...the Line6 updater says update in progress , don't turn off etc. ... my Helix floor says "Ëntered Update Mode" but I see no progress on the Firmware installing line on the updater page .... any thots ??

I think I need to restore my Helix to factory reset and install my backup to be a ble to start the update again ... but , I seem unable to do this. How do I get my Helix off of the current “boot Faiure, Entered Update Mode” screen ?? Until I can , I seem unable to use the backup utilities in HX Edit.
