Even then, the replacement cabs should be available and be an easy swap once your presets are all loaded onto the Stadium.
-
I'm guessing you meant a VST version of the "OS" the Stadium is operating on right? Since there is the Helix Native VST/AAX plugin already?

Here's the thing about "FRFR"; they should all sound the same!!! If they aren't responding flatly, and are either boosting or cutting frequencies, that's going to be the difference you're hearing in the room. "Full Response" is some marketing bs if I've ever seen or heard it. Pretty much every PA speaker that isn't a subwoofer is attempting to be "FRFR". If a "FRFR" speaker is being 'designed' for guitar, that makes no sense. The frequency response should literally be a flat line at 0dB boost or cut across the frequency response (which will obviously then fall off at the low bass and high treble eventually). What I'm saying is, they should all be and sound the same, so there's absolutely no reason to buy a "FRFR" speaker for guitar instead of just finding a really nice wedge or powered PA speaker you like the sound of. It's all the same in the end.

I have had issues with USB devices and cables in the past believe it or not. I can't remember which USB 2.0 B cable I have but I know for a fact it did not play well with the Helix and then I found the one it came with and have never had any issues. I would try a different USB cable unless you're already using the one L6 provided.

So I had been kind of driving myself crazy trying to find a "power" issue when using my Helix as a multieffects and running Left 1/4" out into the Dream 65 > straight into my interface; and the Right 1/4" goes to my amp in a closet, which usually stays turned off and unused these days. I thought it was the power supply, tried a different one with the same Helix > 65 and nothing changed. What was really throwing me for a loop was when a friend came over and plugged right into the Dream 65, absolutely no power issue sound or hum at all; then when I'd go to use it with my setup it'd have an artifacty/power hum kind of thing going. So then I tried direct just into the Dream 65, no noise or hum at all, great. Then I tried unplugging the other 1/4" cable from the Helix that goes to my amp in the closet, and the noise went down at least 10dB if not closer to 20, at least halved if not 25% as loud. Has anyone else encountered this issue when using a Helix with a Dream 65 or other UAFX pedals? I'm sure not many on here are using both a Helix and UA amp pedals like I am, but I am hoping maybe someone else is. I'm wondering if there's something going on in the Helix or if others have experienced, maybe it's just one of those cases where these two products just don't play well with each other.

Looks like it already is possible! Thank you, rd2rk! I'll get my Helix loaded up with my PC and check this out!

Hello there, Since you guys over at Line 6 being awesome and continuing to support this great product; what do you guys think about maybe adding some extra "footswitch" controls to the Line 6 via MIDI? Currently, unless I am misunderstanding, a footswitch on the Helix can be assigned to send a MIDI signal in the Command Center; but an individual effect block that is not already assigned to a Footswitch, cannot be controlled otherwise. the TL;DR is I was hoping there might be a way you all could implement MIDI messages as an assignable option as a "Footswitch" assignable per block. E.g., if I already have all 10 FS in use and I don't want to combo any up; instead of assigning the block to FS 1-10 and combining effects on one switch, we would be able to assign an open MIDI CC# that's not already being used by the Helix as a remote footswitch control. Currently, at least myself, you can set the unit up for 10 stomps + the 2 banks; and then through snapshots + the toeswitch on Exp 1/2, you can also activate several more individual pedals on and off, if one chooses to do so. For instance I used to have a Snapshot setup with the Leslie 145 effect, but then realized since I assigned the Leslie speed control on Exp 2; the Helix is so awesome that just switching the Expression pedal from 1 to 2 with the toe switch engages the Leslie effect on and off as well; so now that on/off lives there instead of one of my snapshots. I run my first 4 snapshots as a Mesa/Marshall amp channel switcher with my overdrives (Clean > Less > More > Both); and then I use a couple of the snapshots to turn on my "extra" pedals. But, if any of you also use this method you'll know, the only way to turn those "extra" pedals off that are assigned to snapshots, is to switch to a different snapshot(s) that has those extra effects off by default. This thing is incredibly powerful, would just be awesome to unlock it's potential even more through adding some extra MIDI footswitches IMO. I realize this would not be for probably 95% of Helix users though. But maybe if it was an option more people would dive into MIDI! Probably not lol. But you guys at Line 6 would be really cool if you did :D Even if it's only 2, 3 or 6, however many extra effects we could control individually would be awesome and would just make the Helix even more powerful. *Edit* just incase this actually catches anyone's eyes; it would also be awesome to be able to have an option of 10 Snapshots with the Preset/Stomp and Tap/Tuner instead of only the Snap/Preset Up/Down + 8 Snaps + Preset/Stomp & Tap/Tuner. I'm sure that's been mentioned by users before though.

Best contact cleaner for degunking Helix footswitches?
ltwhite replied to superficialt's topic in Helix
https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/helix-switch-cleaning.2352841/page-2 Happy to report I just used Deoxit 5 on the OUTSIDE of the footswitches, sprayed directly onto the shaft on the lowest setting possible, and actuated the footswitch 40-60 times; vacuumed over the switch with a handheld Dyson, and let a 20" box fan airdry the switches out for 2-3 hours. The first round got 10 out of the 12 switches working perfectly again, the Tap/Tuner + Snapshot/Preset/Stomp buttons (the two I probably use the most) needed a second round. I have a MIDI controller to remotely use the tap tempo, and it looks like everything is 1:1 on my footswtich presses on the Tap Tempo again :) Doesn't seem like there's any need to pull everything apart like in the video and on the thread. I'm glad I saw the guys post on the 2nd page. -
Thanks for the replies guys. Unfortunately finding the CC#s on the Helix is not the issue I am having :( I've been programming with the Unofficial Helix MIDI guide so everything has been going great until I get to these 4 Preset buttons on the VL GCP. I'll hit up the Voodoo Labs forums and see if there's a way to reprogram the #1-4 Preset buttons, but everything I have looked at and read online leans towards no :/ I'm also using the GCP a bit unconventionally, the #1-4 Preset buttons are "supposed to" be used with having different presets of the 8 Instant Access buttons right above the #1-4 Preset, like the Snapshot functionality on the Helix. However, I'm trying to have dedicated looper controls on the GCP and use those #1-4 Preset buttons at the bottom to control Snapshots #1-4 on the Helix instead of cycling through the ABCD set of preset 4s in each Setlist on the Helix. I don't really utilize the presets yet because I typically have been using the Helix as a multieffects > my amp, but I've been leaning a lot more towards using the amps + cabs on the Helix these days so I may just end up trying to take advantage of having the 10 Helix buttons + 4 Preset + the 6 Looper + Tap/Tuner controls right at my feet at all times.

Hi all, I just recently picked up a Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro and I was curious if there's a way to change the set 4 Preset buttons on the GCP (which goes right to the Bank# A, B, C, D presets like it should) to be controlling Snapshots #1-4 instead of the Presets. Currently I've got the 8 Instant Access buttons to control the 6 button Looper functions, Tap tempo, and a Tuner toggle as my Tap/Tuning button really doesn't work too well. Does anyone know if possible to change the CC numbers internally or define them on the Helix so that I could do this? Or does anyone have experience with the GCP and changing the Preset 1-4 values? Would this be possible with SysEx editing maybe? Since we're here, anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the Helix footswitches without completely disassembling the Helix? Would be great to have 2 more instant access buttons on the GCP I could assign if I could get my Tap/Tuner button working reliably again :(
