I know, old topic. If not cool. feel free to remove or move to an appropriate thread: Is the Line6 Shimmer reverb modeled after a particular reverb?

Well, I don't know what it takes to bypass the amp preamp stage. With 4CM the amp's EQ stack affects the sound, so it's still going through there. I've run the PG in 4CM with the FX loop on and off. Same thing. I have an old Marshall CODE amp and I've run the Mains Out to the CODE's Aux input and that works, but I'd rather run the PG to a tube power amp. I just don't want to cause any damage to the Origin. I'll try running the Mains Out to my amp's Return..... What would be the difference between Line and Instrument on the Mains Out going to the amp Return?

Amp has an FX loop. I normally use 4CM, but I don't think I should (to bypass the amp's preamp). I think it might work if I go from the Mains out (using Line Output) to the Return on the amp. I'm using an Egnater 4x12 cab loaded with T-75s.

I have a Marshall Origin head. How would I connect the PG to completely bypass the Origin's preamp and go directly to the power amp section? This, so I could use the PG's preamp sims.

I connect my W10 laptop to the PG and run the editor to create and edit presets. I also use the USB port to run mp3' backing tracks from my laptop. My question is, what is the signal path of that? Does it follow the same path as my guitar or does tr go straight to the power amp (I use 4CM)? If not, is there a way to set it so it goes straight to the power amp?

Thanks, but I use a big 4x12 loaded with T-75's. They're OK speakers, but the new 2.0.1 cabs add more depth to the sound.

Do I need an FX loop block with 2CM (GTR IN and Mains Out - to amp FX Return), and if so, where would it go best in the preset?
-
I'm using that now. It does not show or tell how to bypass my Origin 50's preamp. What if I just run the Main Out into my amp's FX Return? no FX block needed.
-
How would I do that? Place the FX loop after the selected preamp? How would I cable that to my real amp (Marshall Origin)? I would still like to use the PG's after-preamp effects. ??? gtr -> PG preset -> main out -> my amp RTN (no fx block needed?) ???

Has anyone tried the Pod Go in the Catalyst FX loop, to use as a multi-FX unit?
-
Title says it all. Where do you like to set your sag/hum/ripple/bias/bias X? For example, have you ever tried setting the Bias all the way to Class A on a Class A/B amp model? Also, where do you set your FX Loop in the signal chain (if you use it)?

I'm thinking of getting a Catalyst as a grab-and-go amp for my band's practice loft. I use the PG with my Marshall half-stack. It would be easier on me to use a combo amp instead of the heavy 412 cab and head. I would use the amp features of the Catalyst, but the cabs and effects (my presets) of the PG that I use now with the Marshall. Any thoughts on that?

Got my RMA from LIne6 to return my PG for fixin'. Gotta say, the response from Line6 was quick and friendly. I hope the turn around is quick, too. I miss things when they are away, LOL.

Anyone know if the BOSS JB-2 (BOSS BD-2 and JHS Angry Charlie) pedal is buffered or not? I'd like to get one to use, but would like to know if it will stop the treble drop. Thanks

Their carbon fiber skin seems interesting. Unfortunately, they have a simple website, and no example besides the red one.

I, too, am having this problem on the GO with my Epi LP and my PRS SEE C24. Since I use my guitar volume control a lot, this may be a deal breaker for me unless I can find a work around or a fix/patch for this.

I see the manual's 4-cable method and it mentions being able to switch between the amp's preamp and the GO's preamp models. What if you just want to use the GO's preamp models? How do I set the GO?
