Yeah, and my blank preset also has the output set to -120dB.

Well, no it isn't. OP says at the start he knows that it can be done that way, but he wants to do it efficiently. Current way is a PITA, I agree.

Hard to tell given the lack of information, like how long you've owned the hardware, WHY support told you what they did, and so on.
