Well $1700 is my max budget. I only play at home hence also the bigger budget for me. And I am absolutely new to this whole world of modelling to be very honest! My intention is to use the HX Stomp to have a nice sound when playing with headphones (instead of the Boss Pocket GT that I used so far) and to use it to get also a nice full sound on some speaker/ amp in the living room, kitchen or bedroom. Ideally a nice sound similar as a good tube amp. At the moment I am looking at the Line 6 Powercab 112+ (or maybe the 212+ if it is worth it) in order to simulate some good old Fender tube amps. The other route would be to use a Fender Tone Master that digitally also simulates some old good Fender tube amp. But using it, it will not mix well with the HX Stomp if I am correct as it is not a "neutral" amp, right ??

Interesting feedback and explanation! I just returned a tube amp for a living room setting due to the hum ground noise (Fender `68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb) but I did like the feel of sound form a tube amp. Now I am thinking of going full digital with a HX Stomp and some PowerCab. And of course the question of 2 x 112+ or 1 x 212+ arise... If I understand correctly, 2 x 112+ would be better if you can place them apart by 3 or 4 meters. Otherwise if you want a classic guitar amp placement, the 212+ would be better. Any other feedback?

New to all this and I am thinking of getting a HX Stomp and therefore I am also wondering if the Catalyst amp could be an alternative to the Powercab??

I would like to purchase a very good amp for bedroom level/ home use (in combination with a HX Stomp and a Gibson Les Paul Studio). Budget is max $1700. But not a tube amp due to the hum/ ground noise that bugs me (I had a Fender ‘68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb that I just returned for that reason. The tone quality was however very nice.) Which amp would you recommend?

At the moment I am a just guitar beginner who wants to be able to play silently on my headphones and with some youtube music in the background. Trying different virtual amplifier types etc… is just the icing on the cake.

In the meantime I read many reviews and it seems that the quality of the audio for the headphones line out is ok and that it works good with the DT770 Pro 250 Ohms or even IEM.

Hi, How is the quality of the line out for headphones? I am thinking of buying the HX Stomp in order to play my guitar silently at home while listening at the same time to some background music etc.. from my iPad/ iPhone, all this on my IEM earphones or audiophile headphones. (so far I have tested the Fender Mustang Micro and the Boss Pocket GT but there is some hum noise and the quality of the sound is definitely not that great when I use my Shure 535 IEM or my Sennheiser HD 660S headphones)
