I was having the same issue on my Stomp XL. It was working fine for patches that I had set up a few days ago, but not for new ones. I think my problem came from previously assigning effects to the switches that I wanted to be snapshots. I think it was because I unassigned the effects after setting up the snapshots. My solution was to clear the snapshots and reset them up. Working a treat now.
