I tried both, the differences could be adjusted for on the mixer. I'm currently using line level, because I assume this is more robust against noise on my long 10m cable.

While I agree that the 160 is not the brightest, what I observe - especially the difference in with cab sim vs without - is an order of magnitude apart. I tested different cabs and mics, and came to like the fullness of the 160. But the 57 did not solve my problem. Also what I'm looking at is not what's within the fine-tuning range of the new cabs. Putting the mic on or off axis is not what would make that much of a difference. That's why I didn't switch to the new cabs.

Attached you find such a preset. As stated earlier I use an amp in the Helix, but see for yourself... Scratch- Master.hlx

Agreed, it doesn't really match. If I used the return on my amp, I would have no EQ. This only works if I have extensive EQ-ing in the two paths in the Helix: Massive high-boost for the PA-channel, massive high-cut for the amp. I find the global EQ, which I use mainly for high-cut and low-cut very beneficial for both channels, that's why I'm using not the send-out of the Helix. Apart from that the Global EQ is linear.

Hi forum, I'm facing the following challenge: I use an HX Stomp that does all of my sound. Typical snapshot includes an amp (say a 2203), bit of reverb, and a split where one path goes to Right Out (my amp) and the other to Left Out (to PA). The Right Out is without cab sim, Left Out with cab sim. I find myself turning the highs on my amp all the way back, whereas on the PA's mixer I need to crank them quite a bit. This is regardless of which amp and which PA I use. On the amp I'm using the guitar-in, i.e. including the pre-amp. This way I can use the amp's EQ as well. What am I doing wrong here? Do I need to insert an EQ or shelving filter for the amp-path and turn the highs down there? Or is this the expected behaviour and I just live with it? Thank you for thoughs and ideas...

Thanks, guys. For me it really makes quite the difference to use the global eq both for amp as well as for PA. Low and high cut seems to benefit both of them. So I went with a left/right signal, one with IR and one without. Sure I need a separate mono preset for practicing with headphones, but apart from that it works ok. Only weird thing is that there is a little bit of crosstalk between the channels. I get a small but audible difference in the non-IR channel when I turn of IR in the other channel.

Hm I see. Out of curiosity: Do you high and low cut a signal to your amp? For my ears that's quite beneficial... Or do you do that differently and reserve the Global EQ for PA only?

Cool, that saves me one block AND solves the headphones thing! Will the global EQ apply to both outputs? So Send and regular Out?

Hi all, I got the following problem/challenge with my HX Stomp where I'd really appreciate your help. So the Stomp makes all my sound and works well. These nice sounds shall than be handed to: - my guitar amp, so that I hear myself. During rehearsal that's how I get loud, during gigs it's kinda like a monitor. This signal needs to be *without* cab simulation or IR. - the PA, so that the crowd hears me. This signal needs to be *with* cab sim. - occasionally my headphones for silent practicing. This signal needs to be *with* cab sim and should match what the PA gets. What I tried is using the Send for the amp-signal, and putting the cab sim later so that the regular Out goes to PA. This has the disadvantages of wasting one block for Send (as opposed to just splitting the signal), and the Global EQ doesn't affect my amp signal. To me this is bad, because low and high cut work really well, also for the amp signal. I also tried splitting the signal, using the R Out without cab sim, going to the amp. The L Out gets a cab sim and goes to the PA. Works like a charm but I can't use the headphones as one side is cab sim'd and the other not. So does anyone face a similar challenge, and even if not, how would you handle it?

To phrase it differently: I want to be in snapshot mode, but want the LEDs color to be determined by whether the stomp-block is active. This sounds so doable to me, so I really hope this is somehow possible...

Hi, as much as I love my HX Stomp I'm currently stuck with the following issue (or challenge): I got 3 snapshots, the usual clean, breakup, heavy crunch I got two external footswitches, which do not have led-rings. FS-4 turns a solo boost on and off (i.e. stomp mode-ing an EQ) and FS-5 turns a chorus on and off. This works basically great, but in the heat of the moment I'm not always sure what is on and what is off. Question: Can I configure the existing led rings on FS 1-3 to change color according to the state of the boost and/or the chorus? It seems like a waste to just have them shine white if their respective snapshot is on... Thanks a bunch! chris
