  1. I am also thinking about a Tremmory for my JTV-69...and also am unsure about which length unit to buy. I guess that you would have to screw the claw plate as far as it will go towards the front of the cavity (as above ) and subtract 3-5mm from the distance between it and the front edge of the trem block. I was wondering if they mean 3.5mm rather than between 3-5mm? I also read somewhere on another forum that you can replace the thumb wheel with an Allen head screw (not sure whether this is supplied) Be glad of any other info...
  2. I want to fit a dummy coil to my JTV 59p. Love the sound of the pickups but want to get rid of 60hz and RF hum. Have read a lot about dummy coils and would like to mount one. The battery compartment is the perfect place as I only ever use a VDI cable to my board which negates the need for a battery.I have the dummy coil and it fits perfectly. My question is where do I solder the ghost coil terminals as the only info l have seen pertains to Strat wiring. The principle should be the same but as the pickups are terminated on to the mini PCB in the switch cavity it doesn't appear obvious to a novice like me. Any advice appreciated. P.S. Don't want to replace pickup with humbucker or modify pickups to rwrp as this only cancels hum in the mid position. Hopefully someone out there has thought about this mod too.

  4. Thanks for that......might sway me more towards taking the plunge.
  5. Thinking seriously about buying a Firehawk FX for many reasons. Done a ton of research and weighing up pros and cons. Still using X3 Live but this is slowly falling to bits. I use X3 Live Variax Control for my JTV-59. Can any one confirm whether Firehawk patches can be set up to select either Variax magnetic pickups or modelled guitars (as with X3/ HD 500)?This is crucial to me as most of my high gain tones utilise the mags for a more authentic crunch. I would assume this to be the case but would be happier to know for sure.
