Thanks for your replies so far. One question I have is does line 6 still make (or have stock) of the 3 way toggle? in case that is the issue.

Hi, one of my 3 JTV 59s I have been using for my job has what appears to be a broken 3 way switch. As I said in the title the switch does change the magnetic pickups but not the variax models. The model selector knob does cycle b/t different guitars and the detune knob works as it should. I know the guitars are discontinued and I dont see the switch for sale anywhere on line (that is in stock). Does L6 still make (or have in inventory) this switch so if I send my guitar to a L6 partnered repair shop it can be replaced? The board on my switch says "13 Jan 2011" Im not sure if thats the old switch or the new one. Here are some imgur pics Thanks

Hi, all. I am a long time Line 6 user and have been gigging with the Variax for a long time. Had the 700, 500 (later transplanted), 600, JTV69 an right now im gigging with 3 of the JTV59s. They have been central to my job for a long time and if they are gone im not sure what I would use if I cant keep my current stock going. The closest thing I could get would be an OG Parker Fly and those are even more rare and parts harder to find lol. I think many of us have noticed most of the Variax guitars are out of stock everywhere and Im not sure if they will ever be back but on the chance they will and if they are going to replace/discontinue the JTV 59 I really hope they will put the Variax guts into a Revstar guitar now that Yamaha owns it. They are great guitars and they look cool too. I will be honest I do a lot of corporate parties and weddings and I cannot show up to a gig with a Shuriken. Anyway if anyone is listening and if these awesome guitars still have a future this has my vote especially if they do that sunset burst finish.

Any news on when they will be back in stock? I'm down to my last battery after buying many over the years. I cant find them for sale anywhere other than the cheapo Chinese ones you say are bad for the guitar. It looks like they have been out of stock for a long time.

after some investigation I think both are the same product just sold under different names by sellers. I went ahead and bought one and should have it up and running in a week or so hopefully.

Would you go with the nickel or aluminum B7 to match the JTV 59?

never mind they just got back to me and said the long version will only work on flat guitars.

Thanks guys on their website they have the length of the long version as 7 3/8" long including handle. Our guitars are 6 3/8" from the back of the guitar to the bridge. I emailed them to see if they knew the distance from the end to the roller bar so we will see if I end up with that or the Bigsby or nothing (im not sure Im qualified to do even the little work to mod the B7 honestly). Has anyone had experience with the Xtrem or Guitar Fetish?
