  1. Update: after some tree-shaking I saw I COULD bypass the (missing) ser# request, so Monkey could update to V2.54, nice!
  2. Hi, Trying to update the firmware of my POD 2.0 (3 digit version) from V2.51 to V2.54. I bought this unit second hand, and no serial number to be found - so I can't register it, and hence no firmware update possible with the Monkey software :-( Any tricks or tips here ? Thanks!
  3. FWIW: As I thought to have understood it, there are a few more differences for the the 3-digit POD: - also uses another processor, - added clip- & MIDI-activity-LEDs (the dots in the 7-segment digits), - firmware update by MIDI/Monkey (i.s.o. EPROM-swapping), - (so) does away with the internal backup-battery, - specifies a minimum current capability of the 9V AC supply of 2000 mA (previously 1200 mA) Apart from the current rating & clip- & MIDI-LED, indeed it doesn't necessarily need to be reflected in the manual .
  4. Hi, yes you need a MIDI interface like that. You can check the firmware version by pressing & holding the 'manual' button and then switch the unit on. For the type you have: I thought v2.54 is the latest. Use the Monkey software to update it, in case you have an older version. Here's some info from Monkey, for v2.54: Clicking the 'Update Selection' button will update this selected item. This resolves a problem with the transfer of single POD patches between units via MIDI. Previous releases did the following: - enabled FBV2 Foot Controller support (2.53) - resolved the inability to Save and Recall Channels and Amp Model defaults with customized Cab pairings. (2.52) A MIDI interface is required to perform this update.
