URGENT! POD Farm deauthorised itself but shows as authorised in License Manager

Recommended Posts

Hi,

for some reason (I haven't installed or changed anything from one day to the next) POD Farm has decided it's not authorised and asks me to run license manager. When I do this, it says it's authorised on both Mac and GuitarPort, but won't give me any thru audio. I get the popup every time i open the plugin in ProTools.

I am in the middle of a session and need to do guitars now. How can sort this quickly?

Managed to fix it myself - well not fix it, but identify a bug in License Manager. It won't recognise POD Farm as authorised if I have my GuitarPort connected.

I noticed on the video for Licence Manager the dude said "the really cool thing about Licence Manager....". Let me assure you, there is nothing cool about Licence Manager. Unless you think losing sessions to it's various idiosyncrasies is cool!

uhm... yes loads cool about license manager..

as in before that Line6 hardware was required...

now we can use pod farm with ANY compliant hardware.

your guitarport perhaps didnt have the plugin license...

much depends on what you're other line6 hardware is... (assuming there is other...)

but yes... having 2 licensed devices with different licenses for the same product can cause issues.

Uhm...something that's less crappy than the previous system, but still crappy, is perhaps relatively better, but still a long way from cool. Plenty of other software/hardware companies can do it. Line6 plugin is the only one to ever cause me to cancel paying work, several times.

If you knew I had a guitarport, you'd know it's old enough to have experienced all of Line6 attempts at authorisation via harware/monkey etc

Yes, two devices might cause issues, but since one is the host computer - which is required to use GuitarPort - it really should work without issue.

Thanks anyway for your post though, it really was fascinating, although of no use to me whatsoever.
