Hd 500x ( fun with vocal loops)

Hello friends:  I recently bought the Hd 500x and I am generally quite happy with the machine.

Here is a little something I figured out.  I made a preset using an Amp on channel A, and a Mic on channel B.

Then I called up the looper and started to play around with it.  I wondered if the looper would work

with the vocals thru the mic, and much to my delight, it does.  With the looper set to 1/2 speed you

have 48 seconds of vocal loop available.

I used the mic/pre,  some reverb, and bit of delay on the mic channel and it sounds great.

So I played a chorus of a song and strummed the chords and sang the lead vocal.

Then I stopped the recording and played the loop.

Then I sang the harmony vocal,  and played the chords in a different position than what was on the original loop.

Overdub a second part and sing along again to do three part harmonies.

I realize this is not well suited for live performance, but it works great at home for rehearsal and it's

great fun.

Cool, Have you tried the vocoder?

ohhh I could have wicked fun with my vocalist with that!   Now just how to routine part of the mixing console to my POD and back live without my vocalist knowing!!!!

LOL

No Brazzy. Haven't tried vocoder on the vocals. I sort of prefer more traditional vocal sounds.

But I bet lots of users would like the vocoder sounds.

Was just wondering? I haven't even tried it yet, lol. I've gotta toy around with it one day. It's probably going to give me laugh. You never know, I might be able to get down Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way". LOL
