bond19
Just got a Roland KC-350 amp. Anybody try one of these with the Fireawk yet. It is supposed to be a full range stereo amp. I would be curios on how the best way to hook it up would be, as it seems to have a fair bit of input options. Thanks in advance.
ozbadman
I am a big fan of Roland products generally, but I have found the KC amp series very underwhelming. Underpowered, no bass, lots of midrange. I have tried the KC-350 and KC-550 and was very disappointed for use as a FRFR amp given Roland's excellent keyboards and V-drums. Hell, they even broke up (distorted) fairly easily, which I don't expect for a FRFR amp. I still have a KC-110, but use PA's, or a DT-25 or Blackstar HT-40 if I'm OK with a guitar amp, or would recommend a better FRFR amp. YMMV. mcbeddall
I think you need 2 for true stereo? It only has one speaker

If so, which hookup yielded the best results?

I was talking about my experience with it generally as an FRFR. In my case, for an HD500 and an AxeFX2.

Ok, can you let me know how you set up for an HD500? Thanks, I have yet to plug into it yet.
ozbadman
Ok, can you let me know how you set up for an HD500? Thanks, I have yet to plug into it yet. Well, if you only have one, there's no true stereo, so the simplest way is to take a standard 1/4inch guitar lead from the left (or right) side of the unbalanced outputs on the HD500 and plug it into channel 2 on the KC350. (channel 1 is for mono balanced/mic, or use channel 4 if you want extra control over routing in the KC350). The HD500 will automatically combine the two stereo paths to mono if a single lead is plugged into its unbalanced output.
bond19
I am thinking it will be best on channel 4. I also think that as I will be sending my stereo xlr outs on the firehawk to front of house, through a snake, I will be fine running mono 1/4" into this unit. Thank you for you input OZ.
