Plug In Hardware Stompboxes Between Guitar And Ux2

After an hour strolling around and googling to my surprise I can't find a clear answer to this question. 

 

Playing on a real amp I use a.o. a Digitech Harmony Man and a Cry Baby. 

 

Can I use these effects on my UX2 too, without damaging anything?

 

Will they work?

 

I use POD Farm in a stand-alone mode. 

 

Should I use the normal or the pad input (the manuals only mentions 'instruments')?

Yeah, you can use them. As far as the inputs, I'd start with the normal and then only go to the pad input if the signal is too hot. It depends on how hot your guitar pickups are.
