ColonelForbin
Question: Will the HD500x stream USB audio through the Line6Link connection to an L2t speaker? I was hoping yes; since there is a 'playback' speaker mode.. I have however always had issues trying to use my M20d to do USB playback over the link connect, so... I haven't tried this previously.. Attempting to playback from ProTools to the HD500x, USB stream- and/or overdub on existing multi-track sessions. Have the XLR outs going to smaller M-Audio monitors, was wanting to send the same audio to the L2t through the L6Link connection.. Possible? At the moment, I am hearing the ProTools playback only through the M-Audio speakers. Hearing all inputs through both speakers; I have a a Roland keyboard going into the HD500x FX loop; and a guitar or bass in the guitar input. Quick note on the FX loop: When you have an FX loop block in the signal chain as a 'return only' device, IE, nothing plugged into the 'send' jack, the return is ALWAYS ON, even when the FX loop block is toggled 'on' or 'off'. That status seems to only impact the send, which if it was a full loop, makes sense - delay trails? So, if you have a delay pedal in that loop, ad you toggle the fx loop off, you should still hear the delay / reverb decay.. In this case, I was like, "why do I still hear piano / drum machine when the fx loop is OFF???".... Anyway, a simple 'yay' or 'nay' is fine; or if there is some setting I need to find, point me in the right direction. Thanks!
stevekc
I'll be keeping an eye on this myself - It would be answered in 10 seconds - IF Line-6 just published a graphic signal routing block diagram of the HD500X - I guess only Service Manual owners get to know this important info. ColonelForbin
Bump! Until I hear otherwise, as I tested it at home last night, the answer is NO, USB / computer playback does not support Line6 Link output. What I am more curious at this point, is can Helix do it, so I also asked this question in that forum. I am wondering if it's a limitation of the L6Link capability? Rewolf48
For the HD the answer is no which I find disappointing. I have seen your questions not being answered elsewhere and from the Helix USB schematic that was posted I think the answer at least on release is yes but with restrictions - if you do a USB FX loop at the end of one path feeding into the start of the other which then feeds L6Link then yes, otherwise "whoops how did we miss that one"
Rewolf48
OK Helix manual is out, and on page 44 it clearly shows that USB 1/2 are routed directly to the outputs including the L6 Link. Probably worth looking there for details http://line6.com/data/6/0a06439cb91a5609df67966ca/application/pdf/Helix%20Owners%20Manual%20(REV%20B)%20-%20English%20(%20Rev%20B%20).pdf
