johoffry
My unit doesn't seem to be EQing when monitoring a song sent in over Usb 1/2. I realize global eq is not meant to affect output to USB while recording etc but this seems to be incorrect. Can someone else let me know if they experience the same issue? I am playing a song with my iPad to the helix over USB which is sent out to my PA via xlr l/r. Again, the global EQ does not affect the sound to my PA. Digital_Igloo
The manual is correct—Global EQ is designed to affect only the XLR outs, 1/4" outs, or both XLR and 1/4" outs (the default).

So just to make sure I understand...Global EQ would be a useless feature in the Helix for ReAmping (via usb)?

I wouldn't use the term "useless", but if you're only ever reamping via USB and never care about the 1/4" or XLR outs, you still have access to countless free VST and/or AudioUnit EQs, most of which have fancy GUI curves and can be disabled after tracking. Because Helix's routing is so powerful, there's no magical place to put a Global EQ that gets applied to all outputs unless you make 18 channels of Global EQ (and waste precious DSP resources). I didn't mean to imply that negatively. If your ReAmping USB, then you are doing it in a studio. As you put it Helix's routing is so powerful, and there are tons of plugins to get the job done. I use Fab Filter Pro Q2, it will be more than adequate for the task. With the routing in my DAW, I can easily place that EQ where I want. So this in no way impedes me. I just like to knowing before hand, as I have pretty much decided I am going to get the Helix Rack. :) Does the Global EQ affect the Headphone output? Digital_Igloo
Does the Global EQ affect the Headphone output? Yes, if Global EQ Monitor is set to XLR or 1/4", which it is by default.
