Is the "Factory Reset" optional or not after firmware update?

 

I keep reading it's required or at least highly recommended. Yet, it is stated in the release notes as optional.

 

Please, what is the correct answer and why?

You shouldn't need to do the factory reset. It's not a bad idea to do the global settings reset, though.

Hold FS5 + FS6 while booting up.

 

You can also reset all the global settings by using the command in the global settings menu.

 

Again, though, I don't think it's necessary.

Thanks. I didn't think it was needed and never did so. But, somehow this idea of resetting keeps popping up everywhere.
