elvissideburns84
Hi all :) I'm new here and have some questions, thanks for any help :) I want to be able to play but also record my guitar, mainly through a daw like reaper. I want to be able to do this at night time so because of this I'm unable to play loud. At the moment I have a laptop and a daw (reaper) and I plan to save up for the Pod hd500x I'm not fully sure of the things I need, I would really appreciate some guidance. Is it a case of connecting the hd500x to my laptop and then my headphones into the pod? How about if i just want to practice, can I plug my guitar into the pod and play with my headphones? Thanks for any help, hope all are well :)

Once you connect the Pod to your computer via usb the Pod becomes your computer's soundcard. You will no longer hear anything through the built-in laptop speakers. Thanks, that's great :) do you need special headphones or do any do the job? :) I guess some will be better suited than others :) thanks :)
silverhead
Any headphones will do. Avoid earbuds. Of course some, like high impedance headphones, will be better than others. If headphones are going to be your main listening method I would recommend spending more than $50 rather than less, and getting open backed (or semi-open) rather than closed back phones. Cool :) Thanks for the good advice :)
