Malibu1328
Newbie here. Trying to connect my Helix to my DAW running Sonar Platinum. Using an older M-Audio 410 Firewire (1394 cable) as my sound card. Do I basically just plug in the USB to the back of the Helix and plug into any USB port on my PC? At that point is my Helix my sound card for everything I record thru guitar and also Midi keyboard? (samples, etc.) I don't use monitors - so can I hear my entire mix thru the headphone out in Helix? Thanks
silverhead
Yes, that should be good for audio. Just make sure you configure Sonar to use Helix and its ASIO driver as the audio input/output device. If you haven't already installed the Helix driver you will need to do that first. However, I don't believe Helix can be recognized as a midi interface by Sonar. You can try it but I don't think your keyboard note on/off messages will get through Helix to Sonar over USB. Your M-Audio interface may still be required as a midi interface.
