NARSH
So I was in the POD hate phase for some time until I sat down and really spent some time on building tones for the unit. I think I proved, that the POD isn't that far off. (Proved it to myself at least) For the Rhythm guitars I used my Boden OS 7 the POD HD Pro X and a logidy Epsi C using the s-pres-High impulse from catharsis. I'd upload the patches but without the IR's they are pretty much useless and sound like garbage. The Bass is a custom build patch as well - I used my yamaha 5 string bass. Let me know what you guys think. -NARSH https://soundcloud.com/romeroenr/prisoner
CipherHost
Metal is not the type of music I listen to, but I thought your clip sounded pretty good. Cool looking guitar too. POD HD Pro X - $700 Line 6 FBV Shortboard MkII - $200 logidy Epsi - $200 That's about one third of the cost of an Axe FX II and your getting the tone you want. Good deal. jeremybnz
Are you running the epsi in the loop?

AlexKenivel
I had a tough time getting good metal tones at first and used IRs for a quick easy fix. Now I just use onboard stuff. Your track sounds good on my phone :)
Indianrock2020
What do you mean about the IRs? External device to the pod?
AlexKenivel
IRs in this case are basically a cab/mic sims. The epsi is an IR loader. I used IRs while recording with my Daw with the Pod cabs off
NARSH
Hey Thanks Alex! Still not 100% about keeping it and not going axe fx but there is hope. Gonna mess with it a few more weeks before making a final call.
