roscoe5
Mixed up a few of the previous Mesa Recto 212 IR's with the new Mesa Triple Recto amp (MTR) with AKG D112 mic IR, resulting in a nice 3D sounding set for different corresponding Helix amp types in a single IR to save Helix processing resources. DarrellM5
Very nice job man!!! I really like them. I played with the 4 you posted above for about an hour last night with several different guitars and patches.
roscoe5
Cool! Glad you like them. The 10 IR's in that folder are really the only ones I am using at the moment with Helix amps of similar power tube types. Never thought I could get so many different usable sounds out of a Recto 212. It's surprisingly a really versatile cab. I'm surprised I haven't seen more of the pro IR guys do more with different tube power amps, along with the mics and cabs. I guess that's just another variable that would expand the IR list by that factor. I did take some IR's of just my Mesa 2:90 power amp only. I tried mixing those with the solid state 3 Sigma "b" IR's, which sounded really good. The 3 Sigma solid state "b" IR's didn't sound that great in Helix by themselves to me, and the "a" IR's made with the Peavey 5150 weren't quite my taste either. Two IR's eat up too much processing for me. Maybe mixing a power amp only IR with a "sterile" SS cab IR is ta good flexible solution. Maybe I will try making some pure solid state IR's of my own. I believe my Mesa M9 bass amp power section is pretty flat. Gotta watch the wattage though at 320W into 8 ohms. Poor tube amps...IR's are about the only use they are getting these days with Helix in the stable.
