BigRalphN
I have searched for this (I hate forums search functions) but can't find it.,I was messing with the editor and had an issue. Before report it I wanted to see if I just missed an issue here. Before starting to do my editing I decided to save my bundle. At about 9% I got an error saying there was unknown data in my preset and the process stopped, freezing the editor at that point and requiring me go into the task manager in Windows 10 and shut down thenHelix editor. I decided to reboot just in case and try it again. Same issue. All of my presets I made will save individually just fine so I am not sure if it was an issue with the procedure or if a factory preset was causing this. Everything else seemed to be working fine. All of my firmware etc. are the latest versions. I am going to experiment more today or tomorrow (time permitting as I have family stuff today and a medical treatment tomorrow). I think I will try a reset of Helix holding 7 and 8 and then try it again. I can't remember if I reset them when I did the last firmware update smi thought I might try that. I wondered if anyone else has encountered this? If so did you fix it? Or is this some kind of a bug ?
silverhead
A caution about using 7 and 8 to reset - this will replace all presets and setlists on the device, including your User setlists and any custom presets you have made. You should back these up first. I suggest backing up all setlists individually rather than backing up the bundle. After restoring the factory setlists (7 and 8 startup) you can individually restore you custom setlists and presets.
BigRalphN
I have everything backed up. I have been doing that since firmware 1.0 and actually have most of those backups as well. I generally do the 7 and 8 reset every firmware update and restore everything.
silverhead
So - back to your original question..... I don't know if this is a general bug or not. I never use the bundle because I find backing up individual setlists more practical. That's because new firmware updates often include new/modified factory presets or setlists. So restoring a previously saved bundle will overwrite the new factory presets. I update the firmware, reload the new factory presets/setlists, then import my previously saved custom setlists individually. This method bypasses the error you are experiencing. BigRalphN
I do not use the bundle either. I have the original one saved and I don't think I have ever tried it since. I realize that it restores old stuff. DI explained it pretty well when it first came out. I am not sure why I tried it this time. But since it's there it should work.
