Is there any special benefit/advantage to using a Variax 500 guitar with AMPLIFi?

Hi all,

New member to the forum here.  I am the proud owner of a AMPLIFi 75 as well as M5 stompbox modeller (in addition to an obscene number of other guitars, amps and pedals! :-)).

I presently have the opportunity to buy a Variax 500 guitar at a reasonable price and am wondering if there is any benefit to using such a guitar over just a regular electric guitar with the AMPLIFi 75?

In other words, please give me a good excuse to add the Variax500 to my growing staple of guitars :-)

Advance thanks for your thoughts and/or suggestions,

Cheers,

If I'm not mistaken the Variax500 is all about emulating/modeling different types of guitars (something like 25 different models or so).

I should perhaps have been clearer in my original question - as I'm wondering if the AMPLIFi is designed to interact with the Variax500 in some way that regular electric guitars don't?

That's the gist of it, plus alternate tunings.

FWIW the Variax is considered legacy.

No, the AMPLIFi and Variax do not integrate in any special way beyond a traditional electric.

If you do decide to go try the Variax I would recommend confirming it is in working order and comes with the interface to connect to Workbench.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions Triryche :-)
I really appreciate your help.  I doubt the seller has the interface, the only accessory mentioned was a gigbag.  Guitar looks good and is being offered for $300.  I guess I´ll just pass on it - I've got plenty of guitars as it is, don´t really need another one.
