Line 6 drivers for support of WIN 10 won't install.

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

I really need help. I've tried everything to get my Toneport UX2 to work but nothing has. I have downloaded the latest drivers for win 10 support and tried to install them, uninstall and reinstall 100 times and nothing happens.

I have a new Acer laptop and the drivers and my external speakers worked before, but then out of the blue, my comp just died and said no bootable device. So I sent it back to Acer, they re-installed the OS, upgraded the Bios and I got it back and been trying to get it working for 4 days now and everything fails. :(

Does anyone have any idea why it keeps saying the drivers are not installed and my toneport is not connected??

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

River

I added a pic of monkey with my post. Not sure why it didn't show up, but no, monkey says no devices detected and tells me I have to get the Driver for WIN 10 Support v 4.2.7.6 which I have installed over and over again.I even installed both the old and new drivers in compatability mode for both XP and Win 7 and still nothing.

However, when I install the driver manually, at the end it always says successful install at the end, but they aren't really installed at all. I just don't get it. I had my Toneport work before on win 10 with my external speakers before my comp broke, but after ACER repaired and did a factory reset and bios upgrade, nothing works.

And when I go to sound setting, Windows shows my Realtec laptop speakers and even my Logitech wireless headset but Toneport is not listed. So frustrating.

I would suggest opening a support ticket.

In the meantime…

Doubt it will make a difference, but when installing the driver manually you can try right clicking and run as an administrator.

Do you have other USB devices to try to confirm your ports work? Also try another USB cable just in case.

I would also try another computer just to rule out the UX being the issue.

Thank you Uber,

Ya, tried everything you suggested and much more. BUT, I FINALLY got my speakers working again. I'll just post my thoughts that I posted on facebook here:

VERY happy man here. FINALLY got my external speakers to work!!! So, I did a reinstall of the OS. What I suspect the problem was is when I first bought the computer, it had an older version of WINDOWS built in like 10.2.3.4 for example and that version worked well with my speaker drivers but when the computer broke I suspect they reinstalled with a newer 2016 version of WIN 10 like 10.9.8.9 that the older updated speaker drivers no longer were supported by. So in the factory, they probably used a latest disk for their install and by me going back to the built in WIN 10, I basically reinstated the computer to an older build of the system which the drivers for my speakers supported. Regardless, I am happy to have my speakers back.

It makes total sense and I hope that Line 6 will find the time to continue to support their update drivers for new versions of windows as we journey to the WIN 11 and 12 and 13 series. :) So we can all enjoy our toneports that we've come to know and love and rely on over the last 10 years or so. Awesome product guys...hands down and kudos for the excellence in reliabilty and customer service I have recieved over the years being a pain in your asses over all the issues whether big or small. The line 6 crew rocks! The community here is great also.

What can I say...PROBLEM SOLVED!!!           *CLOSED*

I have a similar problem. Just did a clean install of Win 10. Monkey can't see my UX1. Changed USB ports. Ran the Driver installer in Administrator mode. The UX1 has a red light on it, but it never turns green. Deauthorised and reauthorised the PC (since the name changed with the clean install). Ran Driver install as Administrator again. No luck. Monkey still can't see it. Device Manager can't see it in Audio setting, but there is an unknown device listed (can't tell what it is).
