Using a Splitter on Spider IV Output

You could send the Spider output to (stereo, or 2) inputs on an audio interface that then feeds the computer via USB (or Firewire), and plug your headphones into the audio interface.

Using the mic or line-in inputs of your computer should be avoided - the built-in soundcard in computers is really not made for audio recording functions - cheap A-D converters, only 16-bit and lousy monitoring options (latency).
