KasperFauerby
Hi guys, I just wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with using the G10 with a MusicMan LIII guitar? I'm aware of the issues that can (will??) occur with MusicMan guitars with active pickups, but the LIII model has passive pickups. It does however have a built-in boost, which is a powered circuit. I believe that is also somehow enabled when a jack cable is inserted into the guitar, so I'm thinking it could have the same problems on a G10? Also, I believe I read that it would actually be fairly easy to fix any issues with the active pickups. If someone could explain exactly what would needed to be done, then I would be very grateful. Something about swapping some soldered cables in the input jack - but why exactly does that work/fix the problem? Cheers, Kasper
jbuhajla
The control function diagram at the bottom of the page in the link below shows an active preamp AND gain boost. You may have to open a support ticket with Line 6 and they could walk you through fixing the issue with the Luke III specifically. https://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/luke-III
Tomulator
Did this issue ever get solved??? I just bought a Line 6 G10S unit and it works perfectly with all my guitars EXCEPT my Ernie Ball MusicMan Luke LIII. Makes a high pitched “squeal” sound! Need to fix this!
