Guest Nicola
Hello guys, I would buy a combo amp for my banjo. Has anyone tried this amp with a banjo? or other classic stringed instruments?
gtrman100
Since the Spider V's have full range speakers in them, they might be an option for you. Try one out and see if it sounds good to you. I would use a preset with the Tube Instrument Preamp. One of the acoustic guitar presets will probably work.
ADBrown
Hello guys, I would buy a combo amp for my banjo. Has anyone tried this amp with a banjo? or other classic stringed instruments? I have never tried it but it is definitely possible. I recommend trying preset 3D Acoustic APX; it sounds great with acoustic guitar, and with a little tweaking I'm sure could offer the same quality sound with banjo etc. As mentioned above, Spider V amps are FRFR (full range flat response) via a speaker and tweeter, which is great for acoustic reproduction. pber2025
I hope we will get some feedback from the original poster. i'm not into Banjo playing, but it`s always fun to see people using the amp for something else then guitar. BTW did anyone try a bass on the Spider V? I know there is not a lot of bass models, but I'm just curious how it would sound.
Brazzy
I would say you should be able to get it to sound good. I've plugged in and mic'd an Ibanez acoustic and I've mic'd my 5 string banjo with good results using a Spider Jam.
