ShredRex
Recently I decided to try out the L2M with my HD500X, long story short I was really impressed and decided I would try it at next rehearsal. I love my EVH amps, but looking to scale back and simplify. Up until the L2M purchase I have been using the Pod HD with my EVH amps via 4CM and was pleased with that as well. Once I decided I wanted to run the Pod and L2M at rehearsal, I also got to thinking how nice it would be to monitor my back up vocals through it as well. Easier said than done with the L2M, and I have since returned it for a L2T for the additional on board mixer feature. Now I have my guitar and vocals all monitored and coming out beautifully through my L2T. My question is....If I purchase a second L2T, and connect via link, I would then have the ability to have the singer and bass players vocals run through it along with my vocals and guitar correct? I would have one speaker on my side with guitar and vocals input to it, then the other speaker on the other side with the singer and bass player vocals input on the other speaker. This should work and sound pretty damn awesome am I right 😎
silverhead
Yes that is right. Just make sure you connect the two L2t speakers to each other using L6 Link in both directions. Connect your POD to either of the speakers using the rear panel Line In connections.
ShredRex
Ok thanks for the reply. I run the pod into my side L2T with link, then I can simply connect the two speakers also with link correct?
silverhead
For your purposes you can't use L6 Link to connect your POD to a speaker. You need to connect the POD analog outputs to the speaker analog inputs, preferably the rear panel stereo Line Ins because you want to use a mic in the side panel mixer input. You need to connect both speakers to each other using 2-way L6 Link. In other words, each speaker's L6 LINK In has to be connected to the other's L6 LINK Out. Otherwise you won't be able to hear all inputs from each speaker in both speakers. Imagine you have your POD connected via L6 Link to one of your speaker's L6 Link In connections, and you have the L6 LINK Out from that speaker to the second speaker's L6 LINK In. Now you also have other instruments connected using the second speaker's side panel mixer. How is that sound going to be transmitted to the first speaker? Can't use L6 LINK because the POD is already using that connection on the first speaker. The best way all sound from both speakers can be heard through both speakers is to connect the speakers to each other using 2-way L6 LINK, which means your POD can't use it. It has to use the analog outputs and inputs.
ShredRex
Makes total sense thanks so much. You just saved me a lot of money. I would rather input the pod via link to my L2T, and run the output over to the board with my guitar and vocals mixed.
