sandeman
Helix Owners, how would the Helix and the Roland VG99 compare when not looked at the COSM technology, but sound quality, DSP and effects? Maybe some with both units has a qualified opinion ? Thank you,
aleclee
I have both. It's kind of an apples to pineapples comparison IMO. VG99 does guitar modeling. HX does not. VG99 does polyphonic synth sounds. HX does not. If you're looking at amp/cab/FX modeling, I'd say that HX wins across the board. For my purposes, HX is the bomb. I don't do much with the VG99, particularly since my GP10 does the bulk of what I want out of the VG.

Just needed the comparison on the Effects and amp/cab modelling being well aware about the cosm/mod and synth gadget sounds on the VG. The VG technology some years old now and that whole VG line retired, i can imagine newer devices on the market taking the lead. Time for me for something new :-)
spikey
I have had both and like the tones on Helix much better.
