fflbrgst
It sure would be nice if Line 6 offered a (substantial) discount on HN to people who have the full version of PF (since PF will obviously never get any more updates). Or will they just offer a stripped-down (i.e. super limited) version of HN, the same way they did the PF release and Gearbox?
StevieGreer
$299 cross-grade for registered POD Farm Platinum users. Ugg. I feel this is a bit of a slap in the face to get only a $49 discount on the retail price after only 2 years use of Platinum which cost $299, then not being able to use it for the last 2 years due to having to upgrade ProTools/Mac OS. I really left upgrading ProTools as long as possible, more than 2 years, so I could carry on using POD Farm I loved it so much! Every other plugin I have was ported for upgraded for AAX by the manufacturers for free or a nominal charge. On top of that, I had to buy an alternative to POD Farm so I could carry on recording which cost me more than $200. Amplitube (and Revalver, BIAS anything else you care to mention) is nowhere near as easy to use as POD Farm was and the sounds are only comparable if you buy the custom shop add ons. I used POD Farm for everything guitar and bass - I even used some of the EQ and FX for other things. I really miss it and I can't remix old stuff if I want without re-amping everything. Helix LT users get it for $99 so why not POD Platinum users?
Triryche
$299 cross-grade for registered POD Farm Platinum users. Ugg. ... Helix LT users get it for $99 so why not POD Platinum users? Actually the price for registered Helix LT owners is $299, seems fairly equitable seeing as the Helix LT is currently $999.99.

Sorry, got mixed up, I meant Helix users. I don't see how that's equitable. The Helix user is just getting the software version of what they've already paid for. I bought hardware AND paid for a full software version that was abandoned by the manufacturer when every DAW went to AAX. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a cost to cross-grade, it's just that $299 is almost retail which is ridiculous, given the circumstances I've already outlined. fflbrgst
$100 off for PodFarm Platinum owners. That's still $299.00. For the little I use PF for now, can't see this is something I will go for. I prefer miking up an amp when recording electric guitar, and mostly use PF for DIed bass.
