feelnofrets
Hi, i've recently noticed while having the line 6 edit opened that my presets suddenly have an exclamation mark appear on them out of the blue. I'm using a simple preset with just a Brit-J-800 (no cab, stomps or whatever just the amp) and to my surprise I see the drive knob moving on its own, down from 37% to 21% then back up 1-2% from 21% There's no vibration in the room, I'm using headphones. Checking other presets, they get the exclamation mark as soon as I load them, they get tweaked on their own. I'm using the latest versions of monkey and edit. Saved my custom presets, Rolled back the flash memory, nothing changed. Reinstalled the USB firmware, nothing changed. Pots have been cleaned, re ran to test, nothing changed. Can anyone help with any other suggestion ? Something I've missed ?
Triryche
Try parking all the knobs at zero and see if it still happens.

Just tried it, seems to have fixed it, I don't see exclamation marks over the presets I'm loading. Do the knobs need replacement ? I've cleaned them twice already :(
Triryche
Usually cleaning them helps, did you gently rote them back and forth when you cleaned them?

Yeah I did, after searching in the forums I've read in some posts that this problem is related to knobs, cleaning them was the first thing I did, twice and as per usual I gently roll the knobs from one end to the other. I've been monitoring my presets ever since I read your reply and zeroed all of them, there's no change happening, so I might have to use another cleaning agent or just replace them and be done with this issue, thx for the tip tho, seems fine so far. :)
grayfriar
Did you ever get this problem resolved? Am having the same issue. Not sure what rolling all the knobs to zero does (other than mute my tone)do you save the tone with everything at zero then reload the preset? Yeah man, I just turn the knobs to zero before I turn on the pod load a preset and just work with the master output and chanel level knobs, it seems to be solving the problem for the time being. I prepare the presets through line 6 edit so all knobs at the top row remain at zero at all times.
