SteveStrummerUK
Hi there Neither my Line 6 FBV Control software or my Spider Valve MkII Edit software is recognizing my FBV Shortboard MkII. It's definitely worked perfectly in the past (on the same PC), both with FBV Control and with the Spider Valve MkII Edit software. I've also used the Shortboard on many occasions to control POD Farm 2. As per the manual, I ensure that the Shortboard is connected and working and then run either FBV Control or Spider Valve Edit. In either case, the software displays the message "No Line 6 Device Connected". I've tried 3 different USB cables (which all work with my printer) in four different USB ports (not hubs) on my PC, and still the software reports no device connected. I know my computer is 'seeing' the Shortboard, because when I connected it to an USB port I've never used with it before, it installs the generic drivers and reports that the "Device is working" and is "Ready to use". Incidentally, Line 6 Monkey doesn't recognize my FBV either, just my Toneport UX2. Are there any steps I need to take to get my Shortboard working with FBV Control, Spider Valve Edit and POD Farm 2 again? Many thanks in advance of any help and advice. Steve Here are a couple of screenshots of what I'm seeing if that helps at all:
fflbrgst
What OS are you running? Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon problem, I don't think Line^ hasever been able to figure it out. Suggestions are to uninstall (and deleted all leftover files) all Line 6 software and start again, try different USB outlets.
SteveStrummerUK
Thanks for your quick reply Mike. I'm running Windows 7 SP1 64bit. So far, I've uninstalled and then re-installed both the FBV Control and the Spider Edit software. I even updated my Toneport to the very latest drivers (I was a few updates behind), but still no joy. I've also now tried four different USB leads (all good) in every USB port to no avail. Cheers again for your advice, I really appreciate it. fflbrgst
Unfortunately, its not an uncommon problem. Have you made sure you have all firewalls and anti-virus software termporarily disabled? To update the firmware on my FBV MkII Express and Spider amp I eventually used another computer running XP. But Spider Edit works fine on my W7 computer. SteveStrummerUK
Hi Mike, and sorry for the late reply. I followed your advice and turned off all the anti-virus stuff but still no joy. Incidentally, I dug out my old Vista 32bit PC and installed Spider Valve Edit and FBV Control and my Shortboard is working perfectly with both. I can even get Line 6 Monkey to recognize it when it's attached to that machine. At least for the time being I can use my older computer to create and transfer patches to my Spider Valve 112 MkII amp, which is the most important function I've been missing. Thanks again for your time and advice :)
