Saving amp model perameters from one snapshot to the next

I seem to having trouble saving amp model parameters changes from one snapshot to the next.  For example I have a Fender Twin in the signal chain and for snapshot 1, I set the drive level to 4 and the save the patch.  Then switch to snapshot 2 and set the drive level to 8 and save the patch.  When I switch back to snapshot 1 the drive level is still at 8.  What am I not doing correctly?  My goal is to be able to go from clean to a little more dirt.

You have to assign the parameters you want to recall with snapshots to a snapshot controller (parameters assigned to real-time controllers such as expression pedals or footswitches can have values recalled per snapshot as well). To do it on the unit, simply press and turn the knob under the parameter, and you'll see brackets appear around the parameter. After you see the brackets, you can go into each snapshot and set the value to whatever you want it. That value will be recalled when you load that snapshot (you'll need to save the snapshot/preset if you have the Snapshot Edits parameter set to "Discard" in the Global Settings menu). In HX Edit, you can select the Snapshots controller by right clicking on the parameter value and selecting it from the menu that appears.
