davedelizza
I have a pod x3, so therefore I have access to full pod farm 2 when connected. I recently plugged in my x3 after it had been out for a while, and the only things showing up in both standalone pod farm 2 and plug in pod farm 2 are the free components. I have a track that I had a really cool effect that I DON"T want to try to reproduce and it's not loading with my project. I'm hoping it's just because it doesn't see the full pod farm, and that they'll come right back when I get it back. Any ideas as to why it's still not seeing the extras despite having my x3 plugged in?
TheRealZap
having an x3 means you for sure have access to pod farm 1 not 2... with all the models... (and thats plugin only... standalone does not work) 2 was free on very few x3 units depends on when you bought it and registered it... if you bought it used then there was no chance of pod farm 2 being free. if you think you have a license for 2, use the license manager, login and authorize the unit or computer. Thanks for the reply Zap. I got it right around when X3 bean came out. I did have 2 with all of the plugins, so i'm not sure what happened. I just wasn't using it for a while, then came back to it to find only the free components. Checking the license manager now.
TheRealZap
if you got it when it came out there is zero chance that you have a free pod farm 2 license... it's possible you paid for it at a later date i suppose. you can have 1 and 2 installed at the same time.. so at the very least i'd install 1 and see if you couldn't use it to move your project along. davedelizza
I think there was a time when they offered an upgrade to 2 for cheap or something. I have it. I didn't realize the license manager existed and my new OS on my solid state drive was never authorized. Works now. Thanks buddy. Now if i'm selling this unit, what do i use to transfer all this stuff?
TheRealZap
yeah i got in on the same deal... was 35$ to upgrade when PF2 came out. unfortunately the official rules say that you can only transfer full price licenses... honestly i'd just keep it! (don't think it would add to the used price anyway) because pod farm 2 (2.5 and later free upgrade) works independent of hardware... so you can keep it even if you get another interface. (the model packs however are tied to the x3 so you'd be keeping "standard" which is more amps and effects than free at least) just tell the new owners to use pod farm 1... they still get all the models etc... its not that much of a downgrade... you may be able to call support and ask for a transfer exception if you really want to pass it along.. i can't say if they'd grant it... but worth asking.
