EJP92
Hi all ( bit of a effects noob here ) Was lucky enough to purchase a helix hx a few days back, and after a few days realised that in order to use it to it's full potential I really need to utilize the 4 cable method. Well I have a dedicated effects loop on my Laney ironheart ( 60w head ) which if anybody is familiar allows 3 options, bypass , 0db, -10db ( I've not got a clue what this even means to be honest ) I have the cables set up as all the instructional videos show, however when I power it all up, I have almost zero control over the volume levels of the amp! And it's seriously loud, even with the volume set to zero ( far too loud for home use ) can any of you kind folks show me what I'm doing wrong here? Is there some sort of global setting I need to be changing on the helix to rectify this?
codamedia
Did you insert the loop block in the HX Effects interface? If not... the HX Effects is just blasting into the power amp input on the amp and your amp's "pre-amp" is not being used. If the loop block is inserted, set it to instrument level in the Global Menu. If it's still too loud, there is a volume control on the send you can turn down further.
