martinmichiels
Hi, Before my question I want to thank you for making such an amazing product in such a small form factor. I upgraded from the M13 to the Line6 HX Effects and I'm very happy ! The ability to choose the line levels of the send/returns is so cool compared to the M13 and the MIDI is WAY better and I'm not even talking about sound quality, the new effects... ! I really like how everything is laid out simply... editing is a breeze, even if I want to add some weird controllers etc. So : big up Line 6 ! This is my situation today: I use a little 1Watt valve amp (the Palmer Eins) and, to be able to have my pedals drive the input of the amp, I use a "Send 1" block at guitar level to go to the amp input. This little amp has a simulated output with a load balancer integrated (which outputs at line level) so I (am forced) to use a Return 2 block at line level and to place it just after the send 1 block... after that : output L and R go straight to a mixing console (at line level). This is so cool because I can get a stereo signal using only one little and inexpensive tube amp. Everything works perfectly but... this Send1(Hi-Z)/Return2(line) setup feels a bit like a workaround... I'm using two blocks just because I can't have the single send /return block configured to send at Hi-Z level and to return at line level. If I accidentally revert the send and return blocks I'm at risk for a loop with a Larsen effect... ;-) if only I could choose the gains independently and not by pairs for send/return 1 and send/return 2. I could use only one send return block, free up send/return 2 to use other pedals, and not fear creating a loop while tweaking my sounds. ;-) I know... maybe I'm the only one having this kind of issue... but I wanted to ask if a firmware update could solve that kind of trick. Thanks in advance for your support ! Martin.
codamedia
Insert the Loop and set it to Instrument Level. Leave the send level as is to the front of the amp, but adjust the return level of the Loop down to about -6. That will be similar to a LINE LEVEL return and should suffice. Of course, the other option is to insert the loop and set it to Line Level. Now turn the Send level down to -6 and leave the return level as is. I would like the ability to split the I/O of the loop as well... it's a great request. But I do find the I/O variable level is usually enough to compensate.
